MIA - Miami signs QB Jay Cutler to fill QB void
Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport
Free-agent QB Jay Cutler (Bears) has reportedly agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins on an undisclosed contract Sunday, Aug. 6.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This should be an interesting fit, as Cutler is well acquainted with Adam Gase's scheme and had one of his best seasons in it. With the weapons he has in Miami and a much better offensive line than he ever had in Chicago, he could be very productive. In fact, he could look better in this offense than Ryan Tannehill did, and he's definitely an upgrade over Matt Moore. It's going to take a little time to get up to speed, but Cutler could be a big help in getting the Dolphins back to the playoffs.

BAL - No timetable for QB Joe Flacco
Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (back) is feeling better every day but there is still no timetable for his return, according to head coach John Harbaugh.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We probably won't see him in preseason, but Flacco should be around in Week 1. This might be a convenient way for the Ravens to save face after reports surfaced of tension between ownership and the coaches/front office regarding Colin Kaepernick. If Flacco is fine by Week 1, they can say they don't need another quarterback and can get through the preseason with Ryan Mallett, Dustin Vaughan and David Olson. Flacco's ADP has dropped to 159 overall and he is the No. 23 quarterback coming off the board. He's dropped nine spots as of August 1, though all quarterbacks have slipped a little anyway. Still, he may end up a value if you grab him at that price and his back holds up.

KC - TE Travis Kelce remains sidelined
Source: Chiefs.com - B.J. Kissel
Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (knee) did not participate in practice Sunday, Aug. 6.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We aren't worried yet but the fact that he has been dealing with knee swelling since camp opened, though it's a condition he's dealt with on and off since he was a rookie and had microfracture surgery. Given that history, and since he still managed back to back 800-plus yard seasons in 2014 and 2015, then topped 1100 yards in 2016, we think he'll get through this. The only thing we'd like more of is touchdowns, as he has averaged just five a season since entering the league. He's still worth his 32 ADP as the second tight end off the board in drafts.

NYJ - Neck issue for WR Quincy Enunwa
Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano
Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (neck) is dealing with the same type of neck injury that bothered him during the spring, head coach Todd Bowles said Saturday, Aug. 5.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We'll be watching this one for you. It doesn't appear overly serious, but all neck injuries are worrisome. The Jets are already a mess at receiver and they don't need the only guy sniffing 1000 yards on their roster last year to get hurt. Nobody at the wide receiver position is worth much this year and you can pretty much ignore Jets at the position in drafts.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief may return Tuesday
Source: ESPN.com - Mike Wells
Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) has a very good chance of participating in practice Tuesday, Aug. 8, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Moncrief needs to get on the field. He missed a lot of games last season with a shoulder, so this isn't a great start to the season. If he can get off the trainers table and on to the field, Moncrief should find some success across from T.Y. Hilton, and given his touchdown production last season (7) in limited games (9) we're excited for that to happen. Currently he is going as the No. 33 receiver in drafts, with an overall ADP of 80.

BUF - WR Sammy Watkins leaves practice early
Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown
Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins (ankle) left practice early Sunday, Aug. 6, after he suffered an ankle injury. Watkins said he believes he will be able to return to practice Monday, Aug. 7.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
If you think you're stuck in a time loop because this reminds you so much of every other season Watkins has played in the NFL, you aren't alone. Watkins is always banged up so even if this isn't a big deal, it's a reminder that he isn't safe. His ADP is at 35 right now, and he's been the No. 16 receiver off the board. As a third round pick, he's a decent value especially when you remember he was a top seven receiver in PPR leagues the second half of last year. Of course, you had to basically survive without him until Week 12 and when he returned three out of his last six games were duds. While you hope for more games like the Week 16 154 and one touchdown game against Miami, you have to expect a few games like the Week 15 stinker against Cleveland.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill has partially torn ACL
Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero
Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (knee) has a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, but it is not known if he will undergo surgery. Tannehill suffered a similar injury last season and decided not to undergo surgery.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
With the signing of Cutler, we were pretty sure it was this bad. Before camp, medical checks indicated the left knee was very strong even after the tear but we suppose that was more wishful thinking than anything else. It will be a shock if he doesn't have surgery this time and even if he does, this will cast a shadow over his future as a starter in Miami or anywhere else.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery back at practice
Source: Philadelphia Inquirer - Zach Berman
Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) returned to practice Sunday, Aug. 6, after missing the previous four practices due to a shoulder strain.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Eagles may hold him out of the preseason game on Thursday, but even if that's the case, we see his presence at practice as a comforting sign. As long as he sees some action in the next few preseason games, he should be fine and really, as long as he and Carson Wentz regularly work on the practice field, they should be able to be in sync. Jeffery is going as the No. 15 receiver off the board right now, and we know he is capable of outplaying that ADP. If he is healthy and Wentz takes the next step forward, Jeffery will put up even better numbers.

SEA - Bigger role for TE Jimmy Graham?
Source: The Tacoma News Tribune - Gregg Bell
Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham needs to see more opportunities in the red zone, offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said Saturday, Aug. 5.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
He took a big leap back to what he used to be in New Orleans with a 923 yard season in 2016, but his touchdown totals remained a bit low. So we want to see him get more chances in the red zone, and think that will translate to the end zone and scores. He's almost a bargain as he comes off the board as the 5th tight end in drafts, and if he can come close to double digit touchdowns this year, he will be a steal even at that high ADP.

MIA - WR Kenny Stills has hamstring issue

Miami Dolphins WR Kenny Stills (hamstring) is dealing with a tight hamstring, head coach Adam Gase said Saturday, Aug. 5.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Because apparently the Dolphins don't have enough going on. Stills should be fine, but this might drag down his ADP even more. People were already looking past him to DeVante Parker, and he's been around the 65th receiver off the board so far in drafts. That makes him a decent bargain if you are looking for a receiver you can plug in off and on, but who also can score some points when you do.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brian Hoyer has looked 'very sharp' in training camp so far, according to the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Hoyer is relatively capable of not being awful, which is definitely faint praise. Considering how much of a mess everyone expects the Niners to be offensively this season, all he has to do is not be a dumpster fire under center and we'll all label his time a success. That being said, he's an absolute 'avoid' in all fantasy formats even if Matt Barkley or CJ Beathard never steal the job mid-season.

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (hamstring) did not participate in practice Sunday, Aug. 6.

More than likely a rest day for a veteran the team needs to have healthy and rested for the season. They'll be gentle with that hamstring, and we'll probably see more of him in the latter stages of camp. Ebron is tracking as a solid TE2 in drafts, going as the No. 13 tight end off the boards.

This whole situation stinks of committee, and with Theo Riddick getting passing downs and Zach Zenner getting goal line reps, Abdullah's production is going to be hard to pin down consistently. Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson (hamstring) left practice early Sunday, Aug. 6, and is being evaluated for a hamstring injury.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

NYG - TE Evan Engram listed as backup
Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan
New York Giants TE Evan Engram is listed as the second-team tight end on the team's first depth chart. TE Rhett Ellison is listed as the starter at tight end.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This tells you a few things, chief of which is that the Giants are worried about blocking at the tackles. Ellison is primarily a blocker, though he can catch the ball on occasion. While Engram is likely to still be adjusting to the playbook, routes and general day to day action of the Giants, he's probably a better receiver for the most part than Ellison. But when you have Ereck Flowers and Bobby Hart on the edge of your offensive line, blocking means more and Ellison is better than Engram in that arena, hands down. Of course, as many Footballguys staff who have covered training camp can tell you, the first depth chart is of questionable value. So this is definitely not anything to panic about if you own Engram in dynasty. We'll watch camp closely because the key to the skill players producing is all about that offensive line and pass protection.
