I picked up Ryan Butcher, before the day started, and it looks like they will have him do the 8th inning.
Not sure if Maurer is their closer, yet.

This is late now, but prior to the game yesterday the manager said Maurer would get first crack.

Brandon Maurer, anointed the Padres' closer before the game, picked up a save despite giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the Yankees.

It was 7-3 going into the ninth, so Matt Thornton opened the inning. Thornton, though, gave up a walk, a HBP and a single before being yanked. Maurer came on and allowed a couple of doubles, but he induced three groundouts to end the game at 7-6.
