A lot connected with this. Diamondbacks are rumored to be interested in Howie Kendrick, but if you sign him, you still have Hill's $12 million on the books. In the same breath, it will be hard to trade this guy because Kendrick, Desmond, and Rollins are still on the market as far as middle infielders go. If they pull off a trade, the D'Backs will probably have to eat quite a bit of salary.

looks like one of those guys that had success early and thought it was always going to be that easy. never worked to keep improving. perfect example of this is elvis andrus with the rangers.
