STL - RB Tre Mason suffers injury

St. Louis Rams RB Tre Mason (hamstring) suffered a mild hamstring strain during the third preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29. He is not expected to play in the final preseason game.

Matt Waldman favorite Malcolm Brown could make the team and even see significant action Week 1 against Seattle if Mason doesn't heal quickly or suffers a setback. This is Mason's second hamstring issue so far this year, so "mild" might be a relative term. Deep dynasty leaguers should take notice.

DET - RB Joique Bell progressing nicely
Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett
Detroit Lions RB Joique Bell (knee, Achilles') has ramped up his return-to-play workouts in recent weeks and said he is 'getting close.' Head coach Jim Caldwell said Bell looks in good shape and hinted the running back will be ready for Week 1.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
There's no way that this was the plan when Bell had achilles and knee surgery in January unless the achilles surgery was more serious than indicated or Bell had microfracture knee surgery. Either way, Bell is in danger of a steep decline this year. Keep Zach Zenner on your waiver wire speed dial or end of your bench in deep leagues.

CLE - QB Johnny Manziel's timetable unclear
Source: ESPN.com - Jason Gibbs
Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel's status for the week leading up to the preseason finale against the Chicago Bears remains unclear, head coach Mike Pettine said Sunday, Aug. 30. 'I'll get the medical update today, just see what their plan is for him, when to start throwing again,' Pettine said. 'Given that the MRI was negative, we think rest will be the answer. To me, there's no need to think beyond that until we get to that point, and if it looks like it is more than that, then we'll address it appropriately.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Browns would like to get some more tape on Manziel, but they don't to risk his season status. He is one of the best bets among backup quarterbacks to get a start this year.

CLE - WR Terrelle Pryor may play

Cleveland Browns WR Terrelle Pryor (hamstring) has a chance to play in the final preseason game, according to head coach Mike Pettine.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
By most accounts, Pryor is going to have to play to make the team. If Pryor gets cut, it will be interesting to see if anyone claims him because his size/speed/athleticism combination is rare and he seemed like a natural wide receiver before hurting his hamstring.
