NHL player Jarret Stoll consented to a patdown at the Strip day club where he was arrested, according to Las Vegas police, which led cops to finding two small bags of cocaine plus a bag of Ecstasy in his swimtrunks.
Stoll, 32, a center for the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings, was arrested Friday at MGM Grand's Wet Republic, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. S.
Wet Republic's security called called police after taking Stroll into custody, Metro said. A sign at the day club entrance tells patrons they will be patted down.
A security guard found two small, pink bags of an off-white powder and another clear plastic bag containing numerous gel-caps with an off-white powder inside in the right, back pocket of Stoll's swimsuit shorts, the arrest report said.
The pink bags tested positive on scene for one-tenths of an ounce of cocaine, police said. The gel-caps tested positive for just less than three-tenths of an ounce of MDMA, also known as "Molly" or Ecstasy.
An officer read Stoll his Miranda rights about 4:44 p.m., police said, when Stoll admitted the powder he had was cocaine.
The hockey player was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on drug possession charges. His bail was set at $5,000, and he has since been released.
Stoll has been with the Kings since 2008. The team responded to the news of his arrest on its website Friday.
"We are aware of police reports out of Clark County, Nevada regarding Jarret Stoll. Our organization is concerned and has begun conducting a thorough internal investigation. While we continue to actively gather facts, we are withholding further comment at this time," the statement read.
He was scheduled to return to court July 1. Formal charges have not been filed until laboratory tests are done on the substance in the bags.Comment -
