He is still officially a member of the Vikings, let's see if Minnesota does anything with him.

#19Cowboys doing awful job of hiding interest in Adrian PetersonOriginally posted by LT ProfitsThe Cowboys won't splurge for a running back after low-balling Murray, they finally got some cap relief, it makes no sense to put themselves up against it again.
Should we or shouldn’t we?
The Cowboys posted two stories on their team site on Thursday — a point and counterpoint — debating whether the team should make a push to acquire newly reinstated Adrian Peterson. Which is very odd considering the star running back is under contract by the Vikings. The team’s website concedes that point, but it doesn’t stop it from barreling full speed ahead on the touchy subject.
The Vikings have said they want to keep Peterson, but he was displeased with the way the team treated him after accusations of child abuse became public.
His agent, Ben Dogra, plainly stated to USA Today last month: “We want out of Minnesota.”
All along, the Cowboys have been an obvious option for Peterson, who once told owner Jerry Jones he wanted to play for the club during a phone conversation.
“Well, I understand, Adrian,” Jones told Peterson during the call, according to ESPN. “I’d like that, too … Well, I love your story. I love your daddy’s story. I’ve always respected what you’ve been about. I’ve always been a fan of yours.”
And that’s never been more obvious than right now.

#21Nowhere in that piece does it address the cap strain acquiring AP would create. It makes no sense from a business perspective, they could have kept Murray for less than they would have to pay AP and they did not keep Murray due to cap issues. Makes no sense to suddenly do a 180 now and pay even more money for a running back.Originally posted by BluehorseshoeCowboys doing awful job of hiding interest in Adrian Peterson

They could've gone as high as they wanted, they just set a number that they thought he was worth, and stuck to their plan.
There's multiple ways they could free up as much as they want to spend. They're just not going to mortgage the future on players they feel they can replace without significant dropoff.
I think you're a cowboy hater. I can feel it in your posts.Comment -

#26Murray wasn't all that great. I personally like julius randle better. He hits the holes a lot harder then murray ever has.
Murray was a product of that dominate line. Allowed him to take his time for holes to develop. Expect a mediocre season with the Eagles.Comment -

#28That's why it comes down to if they can restructure AP's contract or not. If he's willing to defer money, they can do it.Originally posted by LT ProfitsNot at all, the Cowboys were in one of the worst salary cap situations heading into free agency, that is just a known fact.
