Diamondbacks optioned INF/OF Yasmany Tomas to Triple-A Reno.
This is a bit of a surprise, as Tomas was one of the big acquisitions of the off-season. There was talk that he might be optioned, though, especially after a slow start in spring training. Working in the minors, the Diamondbacks will try to play Tomas in both the infield and outfield. Should he produce, it's doubtful he stays down for long. The D-Backs aren't paying him $68 million to show off in Reno.
