NFL May Explore Change in Extra Point Rule
Will be discussed in May meetings, two proposals are moving PAT to 15 yard line, making the PAT 32 yards, or moving line of scrimmage to one-yard line, possibly making two-point attempts more common.

NFL may change the extra point at May meeting

I have no problem with moving PAT back to make it less automatic. The second proposal I think is useless, I doubt anything would change by changing scrimmage line from 2.5 to one-yards line.

Kickers too good these days hardly miss from inside 35

How about making it from the 5 yds line and award 3 points

makes an already tough game to beat in gambling..... but most fun to gamble on.... harder to cap for the average gambler

I don't want NFL games with warriors putting their brains and bodies on the line with 275 lb dudes that run 4.5 40s running into 225 lb dudes running 4.4 40's being ultimately decided more and more by a

          5'8 175 soccer player

          it makes no sense

agree! Nfl needs to keep game the way it is. Extra points are just a good way to keep the kicker in the game

i've said this many times and some people actually think having a longer extra point is better for the bettors. why don't they understand this can fukk up a lot of spreads?

I think it is broken if 99.6% of extra points are successful

                        i say make one of the home team's cheerleaders kick pat's for the home team;

waterboy or head coach kick it for the visiting team

only the center, holder and "kicker" on the field for the scoring team, mascot lined up against the center to go for the block is the only defensive player on the field; no fake attempts

if you want to go for two, do it as we do it now... 2 1/2 yrd line, both teams at full strength

Well yeah they should be missed more often than 1 out of every 200. Its a boring play as it stands.

let one player on the defending team blast away with one shot from a twelve gauge to try and stop the ball from making it thru the goal posts

I wholly disagree. Any changes to the nature of scoring and thus final scores in the NFL could nullify previous metrics enjoyed by well researched, sharp players.

With these edges dulled or no longer existing the playing field is wide open for even average gamblers to capitalize on lines and even evolve with the markets.

In time, particularly as data mounts, the smarter, more creative, sharper players will retake the edges offered pushing the average players back to where they belong.

Until then, could be a feeding frenzy as even oddsmaker and bookmakers will be scrambling for opinions.

If you approach it the right way and with some vision it could be tantamount to getting in on the ground floor of an exploding business.

They should make the uprights smaller for extra points. Like have electrical uprights that adjust for extra points.

Kicking a 50 yard FG used to be consider a big deal even in the 80's early 90's now there almost like extra points, I like what they did in the pro bowl move the goal posts in a few feet
