Ouch, already lost to Boston at home without him last night. This could cost the Blazers a playoff spot perhaps.

They'll be able to sustain life once they get Robin Lopez back. Might not be a top tier team in the west for awhile, but they'll float above water until Aldridge is back.

Thunder will probably steal the Northwest Division now. What a devastating injury to a top 5 player in the game today. This definitely helps the Thunder, Spurs, and the whoever gets the 4 seed. Portland probably won't have homecourt in any round of the playoffs now.

Stunner: LaMarcus Aldridge will play Saturday

LaMarcus Aldridge (thumb) will play against the Wizards on Saturday.

Wow! He is going to put the surgery on hold and will play through the tear in his left thumb. This is easily the most shocking news of the season after the team announced he was going to rest 6-8 weeks. Obviously grab Aldridge in all leagues and hope he can avoid an aggravation. If you added any Blazer in even 14- or 16-team leagues, you can cut him. Although owners in deeper leagues can look to Dorell Wright, C.J. McCollum or Victor Claver because Nicolas Batum is hurt.

Definitely got to give the guy props

Blazers not a playoff team without him

Suffice to say if he had opted for surgery and been out the suggested amount of time it would not have surprised me to see Blazers slip down to 7 or 8 or even out of the playoffs for that matter

With that said, if he loses some aggressiveness to protect injury, may be better off getting the surgery.

What is he thinking? So if he had surgery he's out 6 to 8 weeks? Why not just do it and be back fresh for the end of the regular season and playoffs. These games now really are not that big of a deal. The risk/reward is not there.

Yeah exactly, he could play through it, but certainly won't have the same aggressive style or shooting touch. Plus one bad hit on that hand and he could make it worse, gotta be painful as it is. Will be interesting to watch, might wanna fade Portland, certainly the line will adjust.

Going to be a lot of "unintentional" hand slaps on his hand the next 41 regular season games. He had better wear a boxing glove tonight.
