There might be an explanation for Mets pitcher Matt Harvey's worst start of his career. He could be experiencing a case of "dead arm," manager Terry Collins said per the N.Y. Daily News.
"I have not talked to Matt yet, but it looks like he might be going through some of that dead arm stuff that sometimes happens. This might help him to have an extra day to get him back on track," said Collins, referring to the Mets' day off Thursday. "He's going to pitch Friday with five days rest, be ready to go."
On Friday, the Mets are scheduled to play at home against the Miami Marlins.
The team expected these types of bumps in the road in his first season back from Tommy John surgery and didn't send him for further medical evaluation. On Saturday, Harvey gave up seven runs on six hits in four innings of work. The 8-2 loss was part of a three-game sweep the Mets suffered in Pittsburgh.

I hate this kind of speculation, I don't know what to do with him for the week on my teams and I don't want to see him go bad as a Mets and as a baseball fan.

Terry Collins is a damn idiot for even suggesting this without talking to Harvey.

I agree, it really makes no sense for him to make this comment in any case.

Mets RHP Dillon Gee (groin) is scheduled to make a rehab start Wednesday night for Double-A Binghamton, which is expected to be his final step before coming off the disabled list. The team plans to use a six-man rotation when Gee is activated. ... Travis d'Arnaud (broken right pinkie) caught five innings in an extended spring training game. He had a hit in three at-bats. ... RHP Vic Black (shoulder) is getting close to coming off the DL after pitching a perfect inning Monday in a rehab outing for Binghamton, manager Terry Collins said. ... Collins said RHP Rafael Montero (rotator cuff inflammation) had his best of three throwing sessions since going on the DL and plans to throw off a mound Wednesday.

Indians' Corey Kluber strikes out 13 in win vs. Mariners
                                            by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
Indians pitcher Corey Kluber earned a win on Thursday, allowing three earned runs on seven hits and one walk in seven innings while racking up 13 strikeouts in his team's 5-3 victory over the Mariners.
Kluber (3-5) had given up just two runs in 25 innings over his last three starts, but he was gifted enough run support to keep ahead of the Mariners on Thursday. He surrendered two homers on the day: a solo shot that evened the score at 1-1 in the third inning and a two-run blast in the sixth inning to reduce his lead to two runs.
Kluber owns a 3.52 ERA and 96:13 K:BB ratio in 76 2/3 innings. He's slated to face the Royals in Kansas City on Wednesday.

Kluber is having a huge May, he has really hit his stride now.

                                                      Time for a DL stint.
Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg left his start against the Reds in the bottom of the second inning with an apparent injury. Strasburg, who gave up a run and two hits in an inning of work, was seen heading to the clubhouse with the trainer, though no official word has been given by the team.
Strasburg has been dealing with back and shoulder ailments over the last several weeks. Taylor Jordan replaced him in the bottom of the second.
Strasburg is tenatively scheduled to start Wednesday against the Blue Jays, though there is no indication as to whether or not he will miss that start.

Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel tossed a complete game shutout on Saturday in Chicago's 3-0 win over the White Sox.
Keuchel was magnificent on Saturday, recording a career-high 11 strikeouts and no walks in the contest. He allowed just one baserunner to reach third in the game, but finished off the inning with two strikeouts to work out of the jam.
"I was lucky enough to have some pretty good command," Keuchel said to MLB.com. "They were hacking a little bit, but I was showing them enough first-pitch strikes they had to go up there and be cautious of every single pitch I was throwing. That's the way I like it, and it went according to plan."
It was just Keuchel's second complete game of the season after recording five in 2014. Keuchel, now 7-1, moved his ERA to 1.76 in 81 2/3 innings of work.

He is looking like a true Cy Young contender at this point.

Adam Jones was diagnosed with a mild ankle sprain.

However, the Twins were able to score two runs in the bottom half of the inning to retake the lead for good.
