              This is staggering!

Ironically enough, this was also his 25th HR this season...

What a frustrating season for Puig.

Yasiel Puig was pulled from Tuesday's game against the A's with an apparent leg injury.

Puig came up limping after hustling out an infield single in the top of the eighth inning. It looked like he was motioning toward his right hamstring as trainers helped him off. Puig has missed 39 games this season with left hamstring trouble and might be facing another extended absence. Carl Crawford entered the game Tuesday as a pinch-runner.

Reds put Billy Hamilton on 15-day disabled list, recall Boesch

Billy Hamilton's jammed shoulder will cost him at least the next 15 days, as the Reds have placed the speedy center fielder on the disabled list. Hamilton suffered the injury during Tuesday's game against the Royals.
Outfielder Brennan Boesch was recalled from Triple-A to take Hamilton's spot on the roster.

                                      Congrats Fiers.

Mike Fiers tossed his first career no-hitter in a 3-0 win over the Dodgers on Friday.

Not only was in his first career no-hitter, it was also his first career complete game. Fiers needed a career-high 134 pitches in order to get it done. He struck out 10 batters and walked three to secure the fifth no-hitter of the 2015 MLB season. It was the 11th no-hitter in franchise history and the first since six pitchers combined to shut down the Yankees on June 11, 2003.

Dodgers such a mess, $300M payroll and might not make the playoffs.

The Dodgers will have to win the NL West to get into the playoffs.

A nice stash in Fantasy Baseball. What a mess Oakland's bullpen has been lately.

Athletics activated LHP Sean Doolittle from the 60-day disabled list.

He's missed the last three months with a shoulder injury. Doolittle looked sharp during his five-game rehab assignment, recording a 1.80 ERA with 10 strikeouts in only five innings of work. It shouldn't be long until Doolittle overtakes Edward Mujica for the closer's role, though the struggling A's haven't provided many save opportunities this year.

The Mets beat the Rockies Sunday, 5-1, giving them a three-game sweep and pushing their record to 67-56, matching their season high of 11 games over .500. They hold a five-game lead in the NL East and are about to get the (arguable) face of the franchise back.
Seven-time All-Star David Wright will return Monday and he's going to start three games (Monday-Wednesday) before resting Thursday and re-evaluating where things stand.
“He's a star player,” Mets manager Terry Collins said. (via nypost.com) “He's going to play. Then we'll evaluate as we go.”
It's hard to expect the Mets to get star-type production out of Wright, however. He hasn't played with the club since April 14, thanks to a hamstring injury and then spinal stenosis, which many thought would sideline him for the season.
Wright did hit .321/.424/.321 (yes, no extra-base hits) in eight rehab games with advanced Class A St. Lucie, but that's a far cry from the bigs. He was hitting .333/.371/.424 in eight games before his injury back in April, but that was a long time ago.
How will his back react to multiple starts in the majors? How long will his adjustment period be to MLB pitching? He's been quite injury prone these past few years, so what if he overcompensates for his back and injures something else?
There's really no way of knowing other than letting it play itself out on the field.
What we do know is that the Mets are equipped to deal with him not playing well. They've been doing this without him pretty much all season, for one. Also, they now have Yoenis Cespedes' power presence in the order as well as better depth with Kelly Johnson, Juan Uribe and this rejuvenated version of Wilmer Flores (he's hitting .328 with six doubles and two homers in 64 at-bats since hearing he was going to be traded, only to find out the deal fell through).
What if Wright does play like he's capable? It's certainly possible. It would have to be considered gravy for the Mets, but a triumvirate of of Curtis Granderson, Cespedes and Wright with a decent supporting offensive cast and that pitching staff makes for a pretty tough Mets squad, no?
