I think they gave up too much but I agree with what you said, they weren't going to win with those two guys. Plus, with the salary cap going up in a couple of years, you know the Rockets and Mavs and almost every other contender will be going after KD. The one thing that hurts Dallas is Parsons contract is untradeable next year. They won't really be able to add anything. Plus Monta might walk and if your Dallas, would you pay Monta max money?

Jameer was basically a throw in to make the salaries work but yeah the 1st rounder was the main piece in the deal. Gave up quite a bit in hindsight for a rental player/cancer.

yep, rockets thought they'd fold after htown took early lead, took the foot of the gas, quit playin' d, and let pesky jjbareas dictate the pace; mavs showed a little pride and sent it back to my hometown

Crowder and Wright are decent role players as well. and the Celtics were able to flip Wright for a protected 1st rounder.

i respect that the Mavs took their shot with Rondo, but they really got destroyed on this one. they just didn't understand the market for these different players.

and they made the same mistake prior with Parsons by offering him far too much. both of these moves will really hurt the Mavs over the next few seasons.
