And he got a two-year contract no less. Surprising considering all the recent noise about his character issues, I don't think he is a good enough running back to make him worth the headaches.

#6Blount did OK with the Pat's, I was surprised when thet let him go considering he is not a big money guy. With him Gray and Devlin it's like we have three fulls backs, very unusual in today's NFL. I'm not sure anybody even uses a fullback anymore. Devlin is the only one listed as that.Comment -

#10It's a league minimum deal with incentives, through his whole career NE was the only place he didn't get into/cause trouble including college. Gray is a good kid with a big heart, but blount is just as big and can outrun people in the open field Gray cannot Love the 2 year signing with Vareen, Ridley and White all being FA's end of this yearComment -

#11Blounts about 25lbs heavier than Gray..league minimum, knows the offense and pats used him very well, he avgd 5 yds per carry, just a new layer to a dynamic offenseComment -

#15Belichick never should have released Blount in the first place.
As soon as I heard he was cut by Steelers, the first thought in my mind
was for Pats to sign him back, only potential obstacle being would Blount
even agree to it, as he was released by them.
Belichick is lucky that Blount didn't harbour enough ill feelings to turn him down.Comment -

#25Another option for them when deciding on which backs will be part of weekly gameplan. Likely to step in as kick returner. Plus a minimal deal that is team friendly.Comment -

He has played in 10 games this year, he has 11 (ELEVEN) receptions on the year for a Whopping 95 yards. He makes an average salary with the Pats of $5,700,000.00. That equates to $518,181.00 per catch. Your hero. LOL.Comment -

#34Really not a Patriots fan but I really have to respect that decision. These guys are professionals and professionals need to show up to work on time. If I showed up to work late I would be sent home regardless of my performance. The Patriots could of used Gray at practice but they resisted the temptation and did the right thing.Comment -
