#77So ridiculous.....guys can't get paid for their own name
The dealer that told on Gurley should get what's coming to him if he really lives in Georgia.....A true piece of shitComment -

#82UGA beat writer said on a radio interview that this could be the only game he's suspended. Right now the plan is for him to play vs Arkansas. He is not playing this weekend.Comment -

#83If this fuss is about $400 the NCAA head honchos should commit mass suicide. They make billions off TV deals.Comment -

#84Yea, it's sick. UGA folds like a chair when faced with any sort of off the field issues. Getting a reputation of bailing on a kid at the first sign of trouble. If UGA played their cards right like 99% of the other Big time Universities would have, they could have fought it and not suspend him. But Sherlock Richt & Detective McGarity have already thrown the white flag up.Comment -

#85Georgia junior RB Todd Gurley was paid "just shy of $2,000 for the two" autograph sessions that resulted in his suspension, according to TMZ.
The story has taken off overnight, with multiple sports content producers revealing they were contacted by a sports memorabilia distributor saying Gurley had been accepting money for his signature, and the salesman wanting the news to be published. In many cases this occurred around September 30. Sports Illustrated's Andy Staples also reported the amount Gurley received was $400 for 80 items. ESPN's Darren Rovell added the running back was looking for $8 to $25 per signature. The real story that future NCAA athletes can learn from is this: the same person paying you small sums for your signature is the same person that will rat you out to the media or the NCAA, potentially for a larger sum than he paid for the autograph in the first place.Comment -

#95My theory is that Gurley eventually turned him down for an autograph session & the guy realized the only way to get more money out of him was to sell him out to the highest bidder from the mediaComment -

#97Not as much trouble as what the NCAA does to you if they find out you knew about this and let the guy play anyway.Their hands were tied by the NCAA's hypocritical rulesComment -

#99Not a big deal for his NFL future. As long as the 40 time is ok he'll be picked in first or second round. Georgia not very good this season anyways. Gives their qb a game to show he isn't totally awful.Comment -
