I've been placing in a lot of tournaments using a simple and obvious strategy of starting with the defense and working the roster dyslexically. Working backwards helps because I search for the lowest price deals at K and DEF, leaving me extra in the one category I load up, which is WR. A lot of people don't read the scoring rules and don't know that most if not all of the leagues are 1/2 PPR. That can make a huge difference especially with a low priced, pass catching RB. Just thought I'd get a conversation started, haven't posted on SBR in a long time.

Rivers seems like that boom or bust type guy to me. I haven't watched any of the games.... I just know that S.D. makes a lot of mistakes....

Yeah I really try to dig deep and go with non obvious rosters but sometimes it's hard. Jennings and Bell will be on a lot of lineups today, but it's usually just one or two smart picks that get you to the top of the leaderboards.

I don't understand how they got through the loopholes to make this legal in the U.S. But let's enjoy it while it lasts and gives us another opportunity to make Sunday's even more enjoyable. I'm sure some senators and others will rally to mess this up for us. There really is a ton of money to be made mainly because of the enormous amount of dead money in these leagues because every Joe Blow in America is seeing this massive ad campaign by Fanduel and trying it out. It's great.

I look at it the same way as betting on sports, I don't try for one big score. I draft my best team and enter multiple 10 team leagues, placing 3rd or better turns a profit so entering a lot of leagues gives you the chance of playing against a lot of other people, most of which are rookies. So a good strategy is to diversify rather than try to win a league with thousands of other players, that's where you'll run in to the real players and or lucky "geniuses".

there is limited skill involved but a lotta luck too hell yesterday fanduel had the $2.2 million contest with 92400 entries join the lottery dunno at times i get the feeling some judge or gp. of senators will bring this whole DFS house of cards tumbling much like poker stars

I see your point on not grabbing public plays 'cuz if you hit... You hit with a ton of other people.

But on the other hand I like to just try and find what the best players are and try and go with the best talent within the salary cap.

I only signed up to Fan Duel at the end of December. Played some 50/50 leagues and ended in a money spot in 2 of them. Then came second last night in a $30000 NBA swat. Came 2nd out of 34479. .

Anyone else playing NBA?

I play NBA everyday. The season has been a ton of fun. I play 4% of my bankroll on cash games (50/50,H/H, and double-ups) and 1% of the bankroll on tournaments; much easier to turn a profit with the cash games.
