A source tells the New York Post that the Vikings will not release Adrian Peterson.

The Post has sources on this story because Minnesota's ownership group is New Jersey-based. The Vikings are expected to make an announcement regarding Peterson's status at some point Monday and it's possible they'll choose to suspend him even before the NFL steps in. They could also try to trade Peterson. Note that the NFL is expected to review the case under the new domestic violence policy, not the personal conduct policy. First-time offenders of the domestic violence policy get a six-game ban. With Peterson inactive Sunday, Matt Asiata totaled 84 yards and a touchdown on 18 touches as the Vikings lost 30-7 to the Patriots.
