M's are the big winner. They finally get an outfielder and leadoff hitter. All they have to give up is Nick Franklin who never had any future on their team with the Cano signing.

Biggest loser is obviously TB. They get a scrub pitcher in Smyly and prospect in Franklin who was up and down last year. How do you only get Smyly and Franklin for Price? If that is what I was offered, I'd just hold onto Price, make a run with him this year, and at worst trade him in the offseason or next years trade deadline.

Agree, though they have no back-up plan for the OF. As it stands, they now go with JD Martinez in left, Rajai Davis in center and Torii in right. UGLY.

If they didn't re-sign Price, they would have gotten a compensatory draft pick from whatever team signed him. Cardinals got Mike Wacha when Albert Pujols left as a free agent, and Angels got Mike Trout when they lost Texeira as free agent.
