Opposite would be not the same defensive ability as the Bulls employ, not the banging to the boards that the Bulls employ. They have two PF's what do you need Gasol for, makes no sense when, like you said, they could be using that money to get some scoring to that team. They still dont have a solid 3.

They cant sign him currently. The amnesty deadline is Wednesday. They will explore a trade for Boozer up to that point.

Nearing means nothing. Until shit gets done, I don't believe anything anymore. If Bulls sign Gasol, it has to be a precursor to other moves. Just doesn't make sense otherwise. I guess it wouldn't rule out Carmelo. What if Pau signs with current cap space and then the Bulls used Gibson in a S&T along with Boozer and picks to the Knicks for Melo. Boozer + Gibson = 25 mil so Carmelo could get his money.
