Pau actually wouldn't be a bad fit. They'd probably only ask him to play 25 minutes a game. He'd give them some size which Miami really has never had. But for Miami's sake, they need to get younger. I think they'd be better off going after a younger big man. But not a bad fit for Pau or Miami.

He was on a really bad Laker team and he averaged a tick over 6 on the defensive end...and 2 on the offensive end....so you believe that Riley could talk him into going to Miami and becoming a Shock Troop for the Big 3? The same guy who used to complain when he didn't get the ball enough when Kobe was around? Man...he'll never see the ball in Miami...I would doubt Pat could talk him into some sort of hack role on the cheap

Pau Gasol isn't an addition to any team. He's lost his first step... he tires out quickly... his free throw shooting is horrible. Anyone can replace Birdman. He's a turd too. Well the fact that they talked on the phone isn't really a rumor. But for the third time, it is not known if anything came of it. It is entirely possible that all communication ended there and both are moving on.

Fact that conversation took place was reported by a lot of reputable sites/reporters, RotoWorld, reliable Heat reporter Ethan J. Skolnick and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo among them.

Gasol averaged 17 and 10 last season, the guy has plenty left in his tank and would be a nice addition to any team who signs him. I don't think the Heat can offer him as much as he can get elsewhere, but if he wants to play with the best player in the league and compete for another ring, maybe he'll take less to sign with Miami.

I didn't even look at his ending average for the year. But regardless... his stats are meaningless. Lakers were playing run and gun for majority of the year. Put him on a championship caliber team and his numbers would be a lot lower.

A friend of mine in OKC said he heard that Mike Miller and Pau rumored to be talking to OKC brass as well about possible going to the Thunder as well and team with KD and Russell Westbrook...take that for what it's worth. I don't think Lebron wants to go back to Miami. Lebron asking for the max while Wade and Bosh take pay cuts doesn't significantly change the amount of money Miami has to sign FA, it's just a redistribution of salary....i think Lebron wants Riley to split up the big 3 and retool with younger players. My gut tells me its Wade he wants out because Bosh is the only big the have that can play and Wade is old. It's like Lebrons way of saying it without saying it.
