Celtics to Trade Rondo to Sacramento for #8 Pick?

Nothing is official yet, but the Celtics already own the #6 or #18 picks of the draft.


Mark Heisler is reporting that the Celtics might be inclined to trade Rajon Rondo to the Kings for the No. 8 pick.

If that deal were to go down, and we're not sure Danny Ainge would actually pull the trigger, the Celtics would then draft either Marcus Smart or Elfrid Payton at No. 6 to replace Rondo at point guard. Stay tuned. The Celtics have the No. 6 and No. 18 picks, and if you throw in No. 8, it at least makes the trading of Rondo a possibility.

my god that Rudy Gay trade was awful. Toronto couldn't wait to get rid of him fast enough and they really turned it around after they got rid of Gay. Same thing when Memphis got rid of him the year before, they knew what they were doing. Guy is a disaster can't believe he was able to get a max contract a few years back.

After this coming up season Rondo becomes a free agent. He's going to look to get paid big time, maybe even a max deal. I don't think the C's want to give him that type of contract. They wouldn't have drafted Smart at 6 if they expected Rondo to be there past next season. Neither one of them is a good enough shooter to play them together. I would be shocked if Rondo isn't traded eventually.
