Pirates to Finally Call Up Polanco Today (Tuesday)
    Well it's about bloody time!

Pirates outfield prospect Gregory Polanco will be called up from Triple-A Indianapolis prior to Tuesday's game.

A report last week that he was being promoted turned out to be false, but Polanco is coming up for real this time, as he actually announced the news himself on Twitter. The 22-year-old would have been up long ago if not for money reasons, as he's crushed Triple-A pitching this season to the tune of a .347/.405/.540 batting line with seven homers, 49 RBI and 15 stolen bases. We can't imagine that he's available in any leagues at this point, but snatch him up in a hurry if he is.

Very good outfield they have if lives up to the hype. Though Marte has been very disappointing this season.

I'm going to pick him up. Or is it too late. Last year missed getting Gerrit Cole and it cost me.

He went 1-5 and left 4 guys on base and struck out once. He carries a good average and steals some bases.

It's nice to get that major league hit out of the way in the first game.

My thoughts also, the "1" is probably more important than the 1-for-5. Now let's see if he can live up to the hype going forward, he certainly seems to have all the physical tools.

had some issues in RF as he is used to playing center.

Pirates with 3 CF-ers in the OF now

maybe the fastest Outfield in the history of baseball now

Rizzo also doubled and scored in the fourth and hit an RBI double in the seventh, a drive to deep right-center that struck Polanco's left wrist as the touted Pirates rookie tried to make the catch.

Gregory Polanco knows how to make an entrance.
The prized Pirates rookie on Thursday set the club record for longest hitting streak to begin a career by recording a hit in a ninth straight game. The previous club record was an eight-game streak by Spencer Adams in 1923.
The longest hitting streak to begin a career in major league history is 17 games, set by Chuck Aleno in 1941 with the Cincinnati Reds. Pirates great Roberto Clemente began his career with a seven-game hitting streak in 1955.

17 seems doable. Another hit Friday.

                                            No steals yet, though.
