Looks like he is throwing it in slow motion. No wonder hitters swing early.

Great pitch but the ones that dont knuckle and just float over the plate have done in many knucklers

A lot of position players have been pitching in just the first two months of the season.

not a bad strategy, and plus bullpens have been getting taxed across the league. starters have been going down as well (epidemic of tommy john's?)... relievers need all the rest they can get I guess

Not a good sign for the staff when an infielder pitches twice in three days.

Nasty pitch. Tough to keep that up over time though. Hope he doesn't hurt his arm

does he throw all knuckleballs during his outings?
Tim Wakefield was a weak hitting first basemen in the Pirates minor league system when they gave him a shot at pitching with his knuckleball that he fooled around with during warm ups
it earned him a couple paychecks for pitching a bit here and there over the years

Striking out one batter doesn't mean anything
Takes a long time to master the knuckleball
Most fail

Just need to get him Tommy John surgery and he'll have a fastball to back it up.

You gotta figure if they let him pitch twice in one year, they are thinking of possibly converting him if he's a failure on the infield right?
Anyone who can throw a decent knuckler has a shot to make himself a career for a few years.

I've seen this in the past, a few infielders who had pretty decent knucklers

the knuckle ball is dead, sucks cause it was fun to watch. I really doubt that we will see another true knucker baller. Wakefield might have been the last one.

Dickey is the only knuckleballer in the majors right now, but the Red Sox may have another one in the bullpen in a month or two named Steven Wright. He through a knuckler 70% of the time in the minors but is currently on the DL following hernia surgery in January. He began a rehab assignment in Double-A yesterday (Memorial Day).
