They babied him for a number of reasons.....I think they actually played it smart with him. He is going to need a couple of years to adjust to the game and to play proper interior minutes, but I really liked what I saw when he was out there this season.
He will never be Nowitski or anything, but this kid has the touch and the size to be a good player, on a good team, for a long time....the problem is that he plays for the Celts, so playing for a good team may not be an option for a while.

#40Has to be one of the worst but tough to remember the past classes. Let's take a look at the past ROTY winners for shits.
00-01: Mike Miller
01-02: Pau Gasol
02-03: Amare
03-04: LeBron
04-05: Okafor
05-06: Chris Paul
06-07: Brandon Roy
07-08: Durant
08-09: Rose
09-10: Tyreke Evans
10-11: Blake Griffin
11-12: Irving
12-13: Lillard
That's a pretty good group of players and before them a bunch more in the 90's. I hope MCW keeps the trend going and isn't just average like Tyreke who seems to be the one in that group that doesn't fit, still not terrible though. He needs to work on his jumper and get stronger but with his size, rebounding and defense at the point, he's gonna be in the league for years.

#50Every single post I read from you is borderline retarded. Among starting PGs he was 7th in shot attempts per game, 12th in fg%, and 8th in minutes played. Yea he "sucks in reality", not to mention being 11th in assists and 1st in rebounds. Maybe you should start looking at some stats because you sound like a complete moron daily.Comment -

#53Looking forward to seeing how Nerlens Noel does in the NBA. He probably has the most potential and would have been #1, if not for the injury. Hopefully not another Greg Oden. Noel and MCW have known each other a long time and played AAU together, could be a dynamic duo in the future.Comment -

#55With the 3rd and 10th pick, he may just need to defend the rim, rebound, and stay healthy. Who knows how the draft goes, some people have Embiid to the 76ers at 3...twin towers lite style, offense will be hurting. Rather see them get something like Randle, or Parker if he slips then James Young at 10. Maybe Gordon at 10...tough to navigate this draft. MCW with a shooter like Young will be lethal, low post scorer at SF/PF in Randle/Parker along with Noel to defend. Sixers could be a threat if they play this draft right.
Really like this draft, no clear cut number 1 to me and a lot of players that should stick in the league for years...maybe not all-stars but contributors.Comment -

#57Still not sure on Doug...I'm normally down on the white boys making it in the NBA, as white as I am but I think he has all the tools to make it. He needs to find the right spot. If the Sixers could get Parker at 3 and Dougie at 10 that would be a nice fit too.Comment -

#58I think nba drafts too much based on athleticism. They don't look at experience and the development of fundamentals and skills. Dougi has it all. And people do say dougi's athleticism is surprisingComment -
