Yes it does seem strange, considering he could have come back and raced the very next weekend. My guess is he was trying to look like he actually gave a shit about killing a kid. Gotta look good for your sponsors. Poor Tony, his fuk'in hot head finally got the best of him. I hope he stays jinxed for life. That kid did the same shit tony's done many times and nobody ran his ass over. He knew exactly what the fuk he was do'in the night he decide to scare a 20 year old and took his life.

I'm sure Stewart has been told by his attorneys not to mention anything about the incident other than his prepared speech.
I'm trying to remain open to the incident in regards to both sides. I hope the truth will finally come out, but I have my doubts since we'll never hear Ward's side of the story.
The whole deal is bizarre. I've attended well over a thousand sprint car races. I've seen people struck by them several times. But I've never seen someone grab onto the top wing of a car when it was in motion like Ward did.

As an aside

We could do a bracket style pick em with the way the new chase is set up

After 3 races the the bottom 4 get knocked out reducing the chase to 12 drivers
After 3 more the bottom 4 fall out making it 8 in the cahse
Then 4 more drivers drop out after the 9th race making the final 4 who will compete for the title with 1 champion
