He has a strained tendon in his right (throwing) hand. He will not be ready for opening day, which is a shame after becoming one of the league's best second starters last season.

#10I think it is silly for MLB to schedule those games in Australia so early, those teams actually have a few more exhibition games after those two regular season games.
The Dodgers then also play the next regular season game in the Sunday Night Baseball opener on March 30. The rest of the league starts Monday, March 31 except for the Yankees and Houston, who open Tuesday.Comment -

#21Hisashi Iwakuma was great for my fantasy teams last year, the hand injury makes it a little scary to take him, but I might pick him up if I can get him cheap.

#24Interesting thought. If I were TB, I'd look to do this more towards the trade deadline. TB has a shot this year IMO, I wouldn't trade price just yet.Originally posted by Big Bearany chance this Taijuan Walker and prospects trade for David Price still happens?
For the Ms, he's gonna want a ton of money. I wouldn't trade Walker for a SP I'd only have for one year. I'd lean towards "no", but that will be a fun rumor to track as we go along.Comment -

#26Taijuan Walker (shoulder) reported feeling "great" after throwing a bullpen session on Monday morning.
Walker showed up to Mariners camp with soreness in his right shoulder, but he rested for a week and is now back on the right track. The 21-year-old top prospect threw 25 pitches on Monday and should be ready for live action when the Cactus League schedule begins. He has a good shot at claiming Seattle's fifth starter spot and will be worth drafting in nearly every standard mixed fantasy league if he indeed makes the team.

#33Hisashi Iwakuma will see a doctor Friday for an update on the status of his strained middle finger.Originally posted by SportMacIs there any specific period or this is just self imagined information !!
Iwakuma is hoping to be cleared to throw, but it's probably a little too early for that. The right-hander was diagnosed on February 12 with a strained tendon in the middle finger of his throwing hand and prescribed 4-6 weeks of rest. He is not expected to join the Mariners' starting rotation until mid-to-late April. "We'll keep our fingers crossed, no pun intended," manager Lloyd McClendon said Thursday in camp.Comment
