worth using a #1 wavier claim on J Edelman?
should I use my #1 waiver claim this early on Julian Edelman? Here is my current lineup in a 10 team .5 PPR league:

    qb-brady
    wr-bowe/garcon/boldin/g jennings/m austin (start 2)
    rb-j charles/t richardson
    te-a gates/o daniels
    flex-s jackson/d richardson (start 1)

I have some pretty good players, but for PPR apparently Bowe isn't too great of an option. not sure how garcon will work out tonight. but even if those guys suck, I do have miles austin and anquan boldin on my bench. is it worth a shot picking up julian edelman and dropping maybe greg jennings or one of my tight ends?? what do you guys think

I took a shot in a couple of my 10 man leagues that look like they will lose. I droped Golden Tate\TY Hilton type of guy to pick him up.

I'd hold off on using your #1 claim, its way too early to write off your other WR's. Edelman has some value but you have enough at WR for the time being.

I dont think you need the help at WR, but I would try to pick him up just to keep him from other owners. With Vereen and Sudfeld injured, Edelman is going to get more looks. The rookie (Thompkins) will also need a few weeks to become consistent and reliable. Not a fan of either of your TEs, so maybe drop one of them pending their performance tonight.

Edelman will be Brady's primary receiver Thursday night so he could potentially have the game of his life.

As an Amendola owner, I picked up Edelman and plan on starting him. Well i really have no other option, but Im expecting him to get plenty of targets tomorrow night.

Edelmen is going to be Brady's go to guy tonight. Like a previous poster said could be his biggest game. With so much going on in NE they don't have many other options

used my #1 on that league and plan on starting him tonight (.5ppr) tried to get him in my other league with the 3rd waiver spot, but he didnt fall to me. really kicking myself in that league too because i drafted him but dropped him for joique bell before the season started

Like others guys have mentioned, Edelman has a shot to put up some monster numbers tonight. At least you got him in one of your leagues.

Edelman, clearly the #1 WR in New England

Amendola won't stay healthy. Thompkins got stone hands

Edelman was pretty impressive tonight. It was a pretty average night for standard leagues (8.3 points), but I'll take my chances anytime my WR2 gets 18 targets. Just think, he had a pretty decent night when Brady and the Pats offense had one of their worst games offensively. Gronk coming back will help out Edelman I think, should open up a lot of coverage. He saw heavy coverage and double teams all night.

He had a GREAT night for PPR leagues, 13 catches.

how is edelman the "king of drops" or "stone hands"? he caught 13 balls last night...this worked out perfectly for me, i didnt get him with my waiver pick in my standard league (only had 7 points in that league) and bumped up to #2 waiver claim...but i did get him in my .5ppr league and he ended with almost 15 points, i will take that for a free agent pickup....only problem was brady is also my qb in that same league

As long as Amendola is out, Edelman will have value. Also helps the rookies can't run routes and catch the damn ball. Brady got to the point where he had no choice but to force it into Edelman.
