Feel like an idiot right now... should I?

feeling pretty stupid right now..

last week i traded charles, roddy and mendenhall for mccoy and brown... it ended up costing me a win last week as both roddy and charles went off (and now mendy looks great) and i lost by 10

this week i trade matthews, brown and thomas for lynch and nicks.... matthews looking like a stud, brown played solid today, and thomas looked dominant.. while lynch got me 9 points and of course nicks was out... so as of now im down 20 with AJ left tomorrow..


so all in all, i am gonna be 3-2 now instead of 5-0 because of these trades the last two weeks... did they help me in the long run though?

With lineup #2, I no longer have them on my bench



Feeling like I screwed myself pretty bad... I thought I was trading depth to make my starting lineup better... not sure I did though..

as of three weeks ago, i woulda taken mccoy, lynch and nicks all day over matthews, charles and roddy... a lot can change quick though

A lot of that depends on when Nicks gets healthy, but it doesnt look like a very good trade at the moment.

yea... the thought process was that mccoy was supposed to be an upgrade over charles, lynch an upgrade over matthews, and nicks an upgrade over roddy or thomas.. so I got what I wanted.. just two weeks later, I'm not sure if those guys are upgrades like they appeared they would be

dont sweat it man, especially once nicks gets healthy, you have 2 of the top 5 running backs in the league...you also have marshall and andre, 2 of the top receivers in the league...and once nicks is healthy you can have a great flex option...not to mention matt ryan putting up mvp numbers...sure it sucks short term but i wouldnt worry

Terrible trades. Nicks is not an upgrade, since it can be argued that Cruz is the number one option in NY while Thomas is the most explosive receiver Peyton has in Denver.

However, I don't understand why you did the second trade. Nicks was really banged up at the time. And DThomas is shaping up to be a WR1, especially the way Peyton is throwing him the ball.

I made the trades purely to make my starting lineup better come playoff time... and though at this point they dont look that great and I lost some depth, I think I still accomplished my goal..

With this team, making the playoffs should not be the problem.. the problem is figuring out how to not go one and done once I get there.. Depth is great to help get you to the playoffs, but once I am there, guys on my bench do nothing... So yea, it sucks that a few weeks ago I had charles, matthews and roddy in my starting lineup while having Thomas and Mendy on my bench.. but come playoff time, do I have a better starting lineup now??

My thought process was:

Who would I rather see weeks 13-16?

Mccoy or Charles? I chose Mccoy (even though charles has been hot lately)

Lynch or Matthews? I chose Lynch (could be second guessed now after matthews big week, but Lynch is still a work horse that gets every carrie esp on the gl)

Nicks or Roddy/Thomas? Definitely could make a case for all three, but in order to get lynch, I had to take Nicks.. and to be honest, when healthy (which we gotta hope he will be by the end of the year), Nicks is probably the best bet anyway..

So sure, I lost some depth.. I lost a good wr off the bench and lost mendy off the bench (who was a complete wildcard), but I thought I could play leshoure all season in the flex spot when needed.. and even have hartline or hixon if ever needed... So we'll see.. right now, sure the trades might look bad.. but come week 13 and 14, do I have the better starting line up now then I did before? I think I just might..

I wouldn't have traded for Lynch, his schedule is brutal. NFC West RB's are going to have a tough time, all 4 of the NFC West teams have stout run defenses.

On a good note, it will get better. Nicks can only get healthier, and Marshall has a soft upcoming schedule.

yeah Nicks is going to help you later on, I think you have pretty good depth.

And I agree, I would rather have Mccoy than Charles for sure, I think the Eagles are going to figure out their offense better and better as the season progresses, where as the chiefs are just not trustworthy at any position period.
