    dealing alfred morris
i just traded for alfred morris last week and his value in my league right now is SKY HIGH with seemingly everyone asking about him...i think i want to deal him now while i can because i just dont know how the situation will play out with him in washington

    lineup:
    qb-romo
    rbs-benson, green-ellis, fred jackson
    wrs- wallace, marshall, austin
    te- tony gonz
    flex- usually morris

we start 3 WRs 2 RBs 1TE and a flex (w/r/t). non-ppr. my WRs have byes for the next three weeks leaving me pretty thin (backups are j kerley, ramses barden, mike williams)

    potential trades:

morris for d. bowe (best one im thinking)
    morris for steve smith
    morris for demariyus thomas
    morris for g. jennings

what do you guys think? how high is his value and should i make any of these deals? or is he going to keep putting up great RB numbers all year?

I hate trading RBs for WRs because I find RBs more consistent see if you can get a good RB for him

i agree in that RBs are usually more consistent, but the problem is anyone interested in morris needs an RB...i feel i have a pretty good stable of benson/green-ellis who arent flashy but they are the solo backs on their teams and also both goal line guys...plus fred jackson coming back could be a lottery ticket although id wait and see on him...forgot to mention i have ben tate too...but if i dont get another WR i will be starting mike williams for the next 3 weeks, plus our waiver wire is shallow...and later in the year i can flex bowe in addition to having austin/wallace/marshall or go for a trade?

I really want to deal Morris to, but I got a huge dilema at week 5 with a bunch of my guys on bye's so I kind of need him. My only scare is that his value may drop by then. He has had a cakewalk schedule so far, and I think this next week may be the week he has a "weak" game.

man vetoing should be for collusion only...this is far from collusion as his running backs are cj spiller and willis mcgahee...he needs an RB really bad and has a lot of good WRs, willing to trade jennings but i'm trying to sell him on bowe, i think if i can get bowe i am going to, but if he won't part with bowe i will go for jennings...either way will help me through my bye weeks

I call BS on you. Show me one source or quote which says the Skins are unhappy with Morris. The last quote I heard from the Redskin coaches was comparing Morris' running style to Terrell Davis. My guess is they are unahappy with either Helu or Royster, and want to bring Grant in as a backup. Anyways, doesn't Helu have turf toe or something? Perhaps Grant will be the new 3rd down back. But sorry TT, I'm not buying Ryan Grant coming in and becoming a significant part of the redskins backfield. There is a reason why numerous teams have worked him out and nobody has signed him until now.

Speedy nailed it, they are down on helu (turf toe) and royster (patella tendon) which is why they literally HAD to sign grant. clearly grant doesn't have a whole lot left if they are signing him now after those 2 went down and no team has even looked at him yet. maybe worth a bench stash incase, but i don't see grant being a problem. and if anything, TT your quote just proved my point why i SHOULD trade morris. he is offering either BOWE or JENNINGS for morris and I have to pick...at first seemed like Bowe was the easy choice but im not so sure. jennings is getting back to his explosive self after the injury, both teams have great playoff matchups (weeks 14-16) and jennings to me is more consistent where bowe offers more upside. what do you guys think? if you had morris, would you trade for bowe or jennings?

i never do ripoff trades, ever, even if i win the trade,

for the reasons u say, u would never trade him because alfred morris is jesus

You want to bet on the fantasy points of morris vs jennings or bowe rest of the year???

tt, how are you in the position to say that this is a ripoff trade? the guy is stacked at WR, he has jennings/bowe/lloyd...he has literally no running back to play this week (he has mcgahee and spiller as his backs, both are looking doubtful)...im offering him a #1 back who has put up a lot of points, is in a good offensive system, and has the reins over his backfield, something very rare in NFL/fantasy football...i have a good stable of backs in my opinion (benjarvus, cedric benson, fred jackson possibly back) and i think this trade benefits both teams...i am thinking that jennings or bowe will outperform morris, which is why i want to make the trade, but you can definitely argue that morris could outperform them as well...

as a matter of fact, yahoo projects morris to score 95 the rest of the way and bowe to score 92 the rest of the way...sure yahoo rankings arent always accurate but it shows that these two are much closer than you are making them out to be

Morris' value decreased a little yesterday with the signing of Grant. We may be looking at Shanahan rotating RB's again.

You could be right, but youre probably wrong.

The Redskins were in need of a running back because backup Evan Royster is nursing a strained patella tendon and Roy Helu Jr.’s season is over because of a left foot injury.

Grant signing does not hurt Morris value at all in my opinion. Grant was signed off the streets so he is not going to come in and steal a starting job from Morris. He is just a warm body at this point due to lack of rb depth in Washington. Morris owners should be glad today.

Grant will just take over Helu's roll. Shanny loves Alf, perfect for his running scheme. As I said before, there is a reason why no one has signed Ryan Grant. I just don't like Alf a ton because he loses a ton of goal line TD's to RG3.
