You need to be in person at an Indian Casino to sportsbet in Wisconsin.

Until the tribes change that, or the govt revokes their rights to decide that, online won't be happening there.

Yep, only in-person at tribal casinos for now. No online betting unless the tribes allow it.

Wondering when these states will come to some agreements with the tribes to bring online betting live

If I were a casino owning tribe in a state they still have control of I think I would make a pact with all the other tribal casinos across the country to create an online betting exchange together.

They are the one group who would not be constrained by different state laws and could do it widely enough to have good liquidity on top of the casinos putting up their own offers..

This wouldn't be a super profitable venture for them though right? The exchange model is awesome for the consumer but they tribes would be better off staying away from this

Also - why would they not be constrained by the different state laws?

I live in Wisconsin and the tribal sportsbooks are a total joke and according to my congressmen, it is going to be almost impossible to get legalized sports betting in Wisconsin due to the jacked up state Constitution. Fortunately for me it takes me less than an hour to drive to Upper Michigan.

I get you, Wisconsin’s rules make it nearly impossible to enjoy betting there. Luckily, being that close to Michigan gives you way better options — definitely the smarter move.

Yeah, you’re right — the exchange model mostly benefits bettors, not the operators. The tribes probably see more guaranteed profit sticking with the traditional setup. As for state laws, they’d still be bound by them unless there’s some specific loophole or agreement in place.
