    Really bad luck
Am I the only one just flat out getting his ass kicked. The past few weeks I have simply sucked. I gave all my winnings back to the book. Any advice? Should I take a break? Should I play scared? Not sure but I def question my picks these days. Anyone???

Are you making plays that you feel have been solid? Or do you look at them now and say "that was dumb"? If you feel like you're doing good work, but things just aren't going your way, then cut down the unit size and keep going. If you've been losing and then chasing or you just feel like you're not confident in your abilities right now, then take the weekend off.

Maybe put together three or four $5-10 parlays for fun just so you have something to root for without risking a lot, and give yourself a little break.

It comes in cycles...are you capping the games yourself or are you following the message boards and just picking a team based on someone else's pick??

had rough 2.5 weeks myself bro. my banks at 25%, now bit scared to make picks.. regardless if i go with my gut feelings/forum picks, i've been on this funk cold streak. i decided to take week or two off and just write down what bets i would've made and keep track of my record and also rebuild bank. personally, i think i made too many teaser bets (i'm a sucker for them points) so i'm gonna try make more straight plays. i also erased my avatar, might replace or just keep it blank. no matter what you decide on, good luck and stay away from tilt bets!

yea i hear you. i was up pretty good amount just betting sat-sun and then i started betting mon-fri trash games.. BAD IDEA. betting just for action on teams that you've never seen, sometimes never even heard of before was a bad idea. i got helpful tips from forum gurus but seems like luck wasn't on my side last few weeks. i decided to stick with nfl and college teams that i actually watch, not just read stats about. BOL if you're betting this wknd and hopefully both of us will have more to smile about next week!

btw, if you need help with picks or want to consider tailing, el stugoto has been lights out last 15 games. i believe he's like 13-2, picked two winners last night (sucks i missed them). i probably wont tail his picks tonight but keep an eye out for his post. he usually posts 1hr before kick offs. GOOD LUCK BRO!

My 2 cent. If you are serious about making money...you have to be discipline and you need to find a niche. In any trade you have to have a niche. Whether it is O/U, 1st/2nd halfs, props for the game...first quarter...sticking with only one conference....play against only one or two teams. If you jump around and take tons of games across the board...it's not going to cut it.

That's what you need...discipline and finding a niche.

i went small on 3t10pt teaser last night (c.michigan +11.5, u54, usc -10) and barey squeezed out a win thanks to a missed 20yd fg. what games do you like to bet? cfb or nfl? there are few teasers that i really like although i've been trying to stay away from them, 6-10 pt cushion always gets me!

I went on a 11-2 run at the beginning of October, thought I was the best capper in the universe.
Then I went on a 2-13 run at the end of October and thought I didn't know anything about football.
Lately I have been on a bit of an upsurge, making back some lost units on NHL.
Gambling is a just a big roller coaster ride. There are going to be some really great upswings and some terrible lows.
Its all about hitting that 55% and remembering the word variance.
Even the best cappers in the world have cold streaks. I

When you can't help yourself and take a game you didn't cap just for the action then there's a problem. You're not playing to win. You're just playing for fun and feeding the addiction.

Discipline my boys. Discipline. You have to differiate yourself from the rest. Be that 5 to 10 perecent and not the 90. When you can do that...you have a good chance of making money.

why bother worrying about the 2 covering huge lines or worry about huge underdogs covering? gotta be selective and both of those games should be no plays...Oregon st should cover 21 tho lol

maybe start betting really small for a while just for action and fun.

you can get in a lot of trouble trying to make back what you lost.

and you can die of boredom not gambling at all.

Take the weekend off. And betting "small" or some teasers is no solution.
Clear your head completely of all demons (trap? big favorite? visiting favorite? home dog? 90% public on one side? reverse line movement? opinions on this board from some nutcases? all that crap).
Then next week go back to solid handicapping: "O", "D", coaching, QB, INJURIES, motivation (letdowns, revenge, desperate for bowl eligibilty or playoffs), strength of schedule, matchups (e.g. running team vs team that cannot stop the run), home - away, weather (passing team in the wind and or cold), natural turf vs artificial (visitor on different turf than home), etc, etc.
                                          Take the weekend off!
