Texas A&M at Oklahoma with John Ryan
Well we all are aware that is nearly impossible for to reproduce last week's CFB 5-0 ATS run here in the treads and articles. I always work forward though not allowing any wins or losses to come to close to being a factor in my present day research and selection process.

This is an intriguing game with Oklahoma fresh off the blowout win over K-State in game they trailed 17-14. A&M is off a stunner losing in overtime to Missouri. The line opened with Oklahoma a 13 1/2 point favorite and the line has stayed static so far this week.

Before I give out my play and research I would enjoy listening to your input and selection. A no play is good analysis just the same as long as it is backed by sound research. NOT making a play is equally as important as making the winning play.

Dangerous to make a play here.

Sure, Oklahoma comes out fired up after a blowout win and a home loss, looking to make it up to the fans, but you never know what A&M team is gonna come out and play. Remember this team DID hold 20-3 and 35-17 leads against the Pokes and Arkansas respectively. They may have given them up, but they still could have won the game.

With that said, A&M sucks on the road. I follow the Big 12 closely and know this. However, they are playing after an embarassing loss at home which could equate to huge motivation. Theres just too much back and forth here, which in my mind says stay away.

I look at this game and say A&M could play it very, very close or win, or Oklahoma could win by 30. Its just too unpredictable.

Oklahoma will be looking to avenge their loss against TAMU last season, is playing into a bye week, and will be looking to repay their home crowd for the embarrassing loss at homecoming two weeks ago.

Also, TAMU is dead last in passing yards allowed. Seems like a bad spot for the Aggies.

The Sooners having a seven game win streak in this series snapped last year in College Station I am thinking that the seniors are going to extract a little payback here. That, combined with the fact that they have a bye next week and Texas A&M being a poor road team leads me to Oklahoma putting a pounding on the Aggies. I already bought the Sooners at 13 in anticipation of the line going up. I am thinking along the lines of 48-14.

I actually made a bet on Oklahoma and made a thread stating it is the largest wager I have ever made in my life http://forum.sbrforum.com/college-fo...r-my-life.html:

Several reasons but I'll get straight to the point:

First of all Texas A&M is my alma mater and I have watched every single game this year and most Oklahoma games as well. Last year Texas A&M beat the Sooners at home where Kyle Field provides to be a huge advantage for the Aggies. They do not play well on the road or neutral sites which is their biggest weakness. Last week Oklahoma was upset by Texas Tech at home which snapped a 39 game home win streak and probably the biggest upset of the year (in my opinion). Bob Stoops and the Sooners as we all know run the score up with the best of them. Other than last year here is how the Sooners have played against A&M: 65-10 (2009); 66-28 (2008); 42-14 (2007).

This play is purely predicated on the fact that Bob Stoops and the Sooners own Texas A&M and redemption is the biggest factor in this particular game. They are on a mission to prove to everybody they are the best and still belong in a major BCS game, which they will.

I can break their success down versus ranked opponents this year and show how well Oklahoma plays in big games but quite frankly I don't have the time.

What is your take on this game?

Dangerous game here for OU. Texas AM is a very physical team and OU has always had trouble with teams like A&M. A&M will be able to run the ball and has an experianced QB that is able to attack OU's weakness in the secondary. Don't get me wrong OU will be able to light up A&M's secondary as well but Texas front 4 will give OU all they can handel here. Once this line gets pushed past -14 im on it for at least 5 dimes. OU wins but I see this game coming down to the very end.

@ the press conf this week bob sounded very ready for a&m maybe it was the loss too tech but listening too travis lewis talk it's national title or nothing and this team has not given up hope on that. I am not gonna say they are going to get there but i think with tom wort back in the fold and our corner coming back our def is solid and tannehill is not gonna gash us for big plays.i think if ou jumps on them early tann will be forced too make plays in the air and for a running football team i don't think it will work.i know he can throw the ball but i just think ou's def is far superior too a&m offense. Calling for 2 picks and 2 fumbles = points after turnovers, wich i think will be the 14 points every one is looking for. Boomer ******* sooner!!!!!!!

Great insight. I completely agree. Ou has tremendous defensive team speed. They will overwhelm all opponents down the stretch and I do believe sooners will jump over Boise and loser of Alabama LSU. I love bama. A lot.

                  1. ou enormous HC advantage

                  2. ou unlikely to not cover 2 straight home games

                  3. ou revenge

                  4. ou needs to impress pollsters

                  5. a&m awful on road

                  6. ou gets its top db back

                  7. ou bye week on deck

Sherman is the worst second half playcaller in the football. He can not adjust and instead either goes real aggressive, pass heavy, with a double digit lead and abandons the run from under center (OU and Arkansas) or goes real conservative, predictable, running game (Missouri). Its a difference offense from one half to the next in every game.

The defense is however is real consistent. Consistently mediocre. They can stop the run, but get burned in the air. DeRuyter, the DC, has too complicated a defensive scheme and is constantly calling plays late sending aggressive blitzers from all over the place. This would work is A&M had corners like LSU or Alabama, but unfortunately it leads to a pass defense that gets burned consistently (and gets a lot of sacks as well).

If this season is any indicator, A&M goes up early. Keep it even or maybe even has a first half lead, before my heart is ripped out my chest and the offense goes into 3 and out mode in the 2nd and OU just keeps scoring and covering late. I put no stock in this A&M is not good on the road/neutral sites because most use Coach Fran or Sherman's early years when the entire team was seemingly freshmen and sophomores. I've seen every A&M game this year and about half of the OU games. I think OU is overrated as a national title contender, but they should be able to score through the air and likely cover late. If Sherman is as predictable as I think, he'll go run heavy early and start throwing the second A&M goes down. Second half should lead to a pass heavy offense which Tannehill can struggled with because the offense is too predictable. Anyway, an OU 38 - A&M 21 game is about right.
