Missouri is running into a buzz saw.
This is not the MU team you have seen the last 6-7 yrs.
Soph QB Franklin started his first game last week, he is not a quality, accurate passer like Blaine Gabbert or Chase Daniels... both in the NFL.
Last week Franklin had 120+ yds against goddam MAC Miami (O), mostly short stuff.
He is NOT capable of mid or deep passing with accuracy. He can scramble a bit, but AZ will not let that go on.
The MU OL is not settled, three players are in postitions not originally planned, key LT out for season, it showed against Miami (O). And MU #1 RB Lawrence is out, he is the only solid MU RB.
AZ St. is a veteran squad, good "D"", top ILB, will stack up close to the line, squash the MU offense.
AZ St. QB is capable of throwing all over the field, MU has always been vulnerable to passing game, though the have improved the last couple of yrs. We shall see.
AZ St. is PUMPED, wearing new all black high tech uniforms, and the whole crowd will be in black.
They are playing the angle that MU is a ranked team, they are not, no respect, all that... corny but it works.
This is to be a BREAKTHROUGH YEAR for the team and coach Erickson, they changed who called the offensive plays late last yr and the offense clicked thereafter big time!
It might be as hot as 100 degrees, even with high tech sports drinks it takes a long time to adjust to that kind of heat, though it has been HOT in Missouri, too. MU might cramp up in 3rd-4th quarter. If it hadn't been so hot in Missouri lately, this would be HUGE. We shall see.
Friday night, ESPN national TV game, in the hot desert, home team THINKS they are the underdog!
Take Arizona State, VERY BIG. 37-16.
