This will be the new trend. Nothing will be done until it effects the new years six games.

agree and to me it's a red flag in terms of drafting these guys

Toler's still stuck in the second grade so he doesn't know any better.

Yes, it should be a red flag.

The excuse will be the coaches leave too. That's different though, because they are working somewhere else. The NFL doesn't employ these guys yet.

              The problem needs stopped ASAP.

makes me question their commitment to their teammates and love of the game.

McCaffrey should be ashamed too. They should be playing. All you need is an insurance policy that protects you if you get hurt

Pretty sure its not a new phenomenon. Through my years of watching college football I remember seeing it many times. Youd do the same thing too. Youve been wanting to be an NFL player all your life, youre considered a first round pick and coaches and teammates tell you bro no need to play and risk injury and millions, family echoes the same, people that care about you say those type things seeing youre on the cusp of reaching your dream. Your NFL stock doesnt take a hit for not playing in a meaningless bowl game, so you dont play, you probably already have an agent, a loan or two taken out already, youre probably not even 80% going into the game anyway, there's probably other reasons youre not playing also, but the silly selfish public thinks like a brick and only wants what it wants, they arnt in your position and could care less. The eye never gets tired of seeing. Not the first time its happened with guys sitting out, wont be the last, get over yourself.

                        When did it happen before?

Enlighten me you great socialist lmao.

Definitely not 3 guys in the same bowl season, one of which quit with a few games left. Literally every time you post, you sound dumber.

Guys have gotten in trouble and been benched for bowls because they hired agents, these guys are just quitters.

They all have insurance and all take a risk of being hurt all the time. McCaffrey played against Rice in the season finale, pretty sure this game is more important than that one.

What 5 or 10 million dollars? Lol is that worth a career in the NFL, umm no, he could make more in his first contract. You act like he's sitting out the playoffs or national championship or if they were preseason to win it all and walked out after game 3 of the season.

The guy from Oklahoma skipped the last few games of the season, so I guess that's OK too?

I dont necessarily agree with that if he's not injured, but its his life and if he feels he'll still be a high pick who am I to get upset or even care for that matter, affects me none.

Like it or not, it is a fact of life and you had better get used to it. No one in their right mind really wants to go to El Paso anyways, especially for a tier two Bowl Game.

                                  interesting topic................

too many meaningless bowl games - not that stanford or LSU's games are necessarily meaningless, but i think maybe it needs to be addressed.

we were talking bowl game betting systems and it seems like teams from big 5 conferences with disappointing seasons are good FADES and i think LF/CM actions show you how these teams feel.

insurance is great and all. but i'm sure it's a pain to get them to pay out on all but clear career-ending injuries.... and i'm thinking insurance co wants you to never play in NFL. so if you attempt comeback from major injury = no money......... very murky as to whether mccaffrey going in 3rd round = he dropped due to injury as opposed to 1) mocks weren't correct - late 1st; 2) workouts weren't that great etc. etc.

The ONLY possible solution is to force these kids to repay their scholarship money for jumping before the season ends. That probably will have no effect on them, but at least it will indicate that the NCAA takes this crap seriously.

Not a terrible idea, like a fine.

If the NFL worked with them there are some possibilities.
