#2There should be a rule that states that if a missed call would have ended a game with a different result, the result is changed and the team committing the foul (s) lose the game.Comment -

#3Miami's TD clearly should not have counted, but the officiating throughout the game was horrendous and lopsided against Miami. Not saying Miami didn't play sloppy and commit fouls, bit c'mon. Miami wasn't allowed to play pass D on Duke's last drive. 3 P.I. penalties, two of which were b.s. Before that last play, I would have thought Duke paid off the refs. Just a complete abortion of a game from start to finish.Comment -

#4You start going back and changing calls, you're going to have to go back through the entire game. Duke got 95% of the favorable calls in that game. Miami would have won the game easily if it was called fairly in the first place. Miami had 24 penalties to Dukes 5. That's horseshit and I had money on Duke.
I'm glad the ACC suspended these idiots. Maybe it will wake up the entire reffing crews because there's too much incompetence in CFB refs.

#6a statement released on the Atlantic Coast Conference's website, the entire crew will be suspended two games for the "series of errors during the final play of the game."
The announcement came after the league's weekly review of game footage which includes reports and interviews with officials and administrators.
The errors listed are:
- The replay official erred in not overturning the ruling on the field that the Miami player had released the ball prior to his knee being down. If called, this would have ended the game.
- The on-field officials erred by failing to penalize Miami for an illegal block in the back at the Miami 16-yard line. If called, the ball would have been placed at the Miami 8-yard line and the game would have been extended for an untimed down.
- A block in the back foul was called at the Duke 26-yard line. After the officials conferred, which is appropriate, they correctly determined that the block was from the side, which resulted in the flag being picked up. The replay official was not involved in the decision to pick up the flag; however, the referee did not effectively manage communication and properly explain why the flag was picked up.
- In addition, the on-field crew failed to penalize a Miami player for leaving the bench area and entering the field prior to the end of the play. This foul would not have negated the touchdown because it would have been enforced as a dead ball foul.

#9I never liked or cared when they did stuff like this, league apologizing for officials mistakes or suspending officials. It does nothing for the losing gambler if they happened to be on Duke, how about actually rewarding Duke the win.Comment -

#10These are not referees. These are CROOKS. Pass interference after pass interference on that last Duke TD to keep the drive alive.Comment -

This is probably the main reason you'll never see a game winner changed after the fact. It would cause too much trouble in the gambling world.Comment
