When World Boxing Federation Women’s World Light Welterweight Champion Holly Holm, 32-2-3 (9), makes her first defense of this particular championship on May 11 at the Route 66 Casino Hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico, it will also be her last.
She is favored to defeat opponent Mary McGee, 20-1 (11), on Fresquez Productions “Mayhem” show, but “The Preachers Daughter” has decided that this will be her last bout, win or lose, and that she will in the future concentrate on her career in Mixed Martial Arts:
“When we were deciding which way to go with my future, my trainer, Mike Winkeljohn, said it best, “You want to climb a new mountain.” This thing has created a new spark in me and I’m following my heart”, said Holm in a recent statement.
“I’ve never been a paper champion. I’ve grown so much every step of the way. I’m in this fight, on May 11,100 percent; I’m not distracted. This is obviously an emotional, spiritual and physical journey and I’m so grateful for the people who have supported me. I just want to fight where my passion is (MMA).”
Holm, who is also the reigning WBF World Welterweight Champion, is by many considered the best Pound-For-Pound female boxer in the world. At only 31 years of age she has had an amazing career in professional boxing, and captured no less than THIRTEEN world titles in three weight classes.
After re-capturing the WBF title at Welterweight in a rematch with Anne Sophie Mathias last June, Holm moved down in weight to lift the Light Welterweight crown with a shutout decision over Diana Prazak in December. While she didn’t lose a round in that bout, Holm will not be facing a push-over in her first defense, and final boxing match!
“Merciless” Mary McGee (26) turned professional in 2005 and has won various minor titles on her way to what will by far be her biggest fight on May 11.
This past December, on the undercard of Holm vs. Prazak, she stopped perennial contender Victoria Cisneros in four rounds. Cisneros has twice gone the distance with Holm and lost a world title-challenge to Cecilia Braekhus on points, so the fact that McGee handled her with such ease underlines the fact that she will be a major threat to spoil Holms retirement party.
“Mary McGee is a bright, talented boxer who earned this world title shot”, promoter Lenny Fresquez said when announcing the match-up.
“She impressed us all last December in her fight on the Holm-Prazak card at Route 66 Casino Hotel. Unlike others that call-out Holly, only to break negotiations because they were never serious, Mary is stepping up to the plate like a real fighter.”
-2u, sloppy fight. Mary was smoothering her punches all night.

What up side? Who are you taking this weekend?
BTW, I know I mentioned I went to HS with Sara McMann. Have you seen the HUGE tattoo she just got on her back? She came back to her hometown the other day and got tatted at the local Diamond Thieves Tattoo Shop. She did a meet and greet too. I closed up my business and went over there for a few minutes. I got her to autograph 3 pictures. One for me and two for friends that couldn't go. She personalized them to us. After I left I thought to myself SHIT I should've got one personalized to SIDELOADED! I'm sure I'll see her again at some point. Do you want me to get you one next time? Email me at ************@yahoo.com if you do.
TTYL.

That sounds awesome. Yeah I saw the tattoo! Her topps trading card is coming out. I cant wait to get one of those. Did you watch rumble on the rails? I watched the stream and Sara and CLarissia CHun were there. I could see them sitting in the front row.
Been real busy capping Invicta. I will have a lot of plays on this next card, plus waiting to here on sara's next fight.
I wish they had betting on JEWELS. Ham Soe-Hee is fighting for the belt against Sugiyama may 25th. I know Ham is going to pull the upset. Wish I was in japan to get some money on it.
hEre is ham hitting some mitts :

Speaking of Clarrissa Chun. She should come to mma. Bronze medalist at 48kg and with a judo background. She also trains at bj penn's so I know she has some bjj. She could be a real force.
If the girls are making good money in invicta I could see her coming over. Hopefully Sara can talk her into it. A lot of girls saw Sara's win in the ufc on team usa wrestling. I could see a few coming over. Hopefully Elena Pirozhkova, Clarissa Chun, Helen Maroulis.

She is a beast man. Beat the P4p best in Hisae Watanabe when Watanabe was just knocking girls out cold.
She will get a shot in invicta if she can win this belt. No doubt about it.

Miesha is clearly abusing. I mean her body changed, and she asked for time off, went to brazil, then fought crazy good for 1.5 rds which is completely out of her character.

Bryan Caraway has become the primary target of MMA vitriol since receiving the UFC 159 Submission of the Night bonus that had originally been reserved for Pat Healy...

i dont think that writer understands what mma is about
With all of the bad publicity surrounding him right now, Caraway would probably be wise to take his unexpected bonus money and go on a long vacation far away from the reach of the MMA media.
this mma shit is made up of retarded ex-wwe fans. they love chael. All this attention is just making caraway a bigger star and money.
The best thing to do to the guy is ignore him. Then he will go back to fighting for 500 bucks on xfc cards.
