Phil Davis Is a pretty good fighter and he could barely get and hold Machida down. He is a bit larger than Weidman and Machida as well. Hes a four time all American and national champion. Im sure most of you know this but I thought I'd play devils advocate.

Yee and we all just saw how hopeless he was against rumble. Being a great collegiate wrestler doesnt automatically translate in to mma. Phil davis' setups are mediocre and obviously his striking is as well unlike weidman.my only concern is weidman keeps getting injuries and now has had knee surgeries

I hear that but i also think that was a factor of rumble performing well. I think his performances at 170 might be getting factored in to his overall evaluation a little bit too much. He had to be so damn dehydrated there. There were times when he came in over 10 pounds too heavy. When he actually made 170 he had to be in awful shape. I think he will do very well in the light heavyweigh division.
