    Ufc 156: Jon fitch and demian maia fighter analysis

    I'd like to share an in depth cerebral analysis of these 2 combatants on the upcoming card. As I have stated, I have put a significant play down on Jon Fitch, and am watching line movement to likely put down even more.

    My analysis is as follows:


    When you look at thier body types, Maia appears to be a bit stockier and condenced, while Fitch seems a bit more spread out, rangier, kind of longer in a weird and difficult way to put my finger on. A little lengthier I reckon.

    Fitch has a 2 inch reach advantage over Demian Maia. I suspect he has larger hands and fingers as well.

    Fitch has a more wild and untamed beard, this would suggest that something on Fitch is producing more testosterone then Maia, and is likely to be larger.

    Upon searching for weigh in photos, I noted the following: Fitch can be seen in the photo wearing tight briefs while Maia wears loose fitting trunks. Why is this relevent? I propose to you that Maia wears loose fitting trunks to hide something, or more importantly, to distract people from the fact that he has LESS to hide then Jon Fitch.

    Unfortunately I could not find out what size shoes either of these men wear. If someone has any inside info this could be a key factor in this breakdown and may actually be more important then any of the factors listed above.

    Conclusion: bet a substantial portion of your bankroll on Jon Fitch.

    Longer limbs also means that it is easier to catch 'em in an armbar.

    Yeah essentially, but I'm also saying that Maia has a sort of stubbiness about him, which might be more of a negative then the girth is a positive.

    But I'm really confused as to which is better. I agree, we need an expert.

    Theoretically yes, the only question is how. Cursory google searching has revealed that her name is "Michelle" and she appears not be a true oriental, but rather one of the American ones. This certainly would make a difference.

    Terrible fight to bet on in my opinion. All favorites on the main card should win easily except this fight. I guess Fitch by decision is the most obvious prediction...

    Jon fitch is a better mma fighter period. In every facet except grappling. He cant hang with maia on the ground but he can when you consider punches. Underrated again because of his ko loss to hendricks. Hes rarely in danger of losing fights, except to rlite fighters.

    it depends on whos the stronger fighter of the 2 im thinking fitch is damn strong but maia at 170 is also very strong too and fitch is going to fall into maia's strengths plenty of times throughout the fight.

    shiit you're right. Maybe if I go to boxing and fight some pro's with shorter reach I'll be more successful as wont have to worry about the ground game. Think my reach is a couple inches longer than Andre Ward so I'll school him for sure
