It takes me almost a full day to go thru them all and to really think them all out.. Then weed out the ones for best value that are most likely to land.... That's what I'm doing today... Ugggghhh....

When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it, yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two!!! I will know it was not that blow that did it but all that had gone before it..Comment -

#82^^good stuff, jibster...changing gears and going all philosophical...with no warning...and seamlessly...
from MMA-gambling/monster trucks setting to appreciation of visual art and motivational aphorisms...
great transition game^^
_____________
but we gotta contain this stuff where it is...lest this subforum degenerate into a former state where a bunch of ponces vied to outdo each other (a la "Emperor's New Clothes") with their abilty to apply subtle nuances of appreciation to video "products" aimed at the discerning intellectual snob...
speaking of which...here's an interesting saloon-worthy video (lo-brow on the snob-scale...but high on the "shake up from the shoulder up" scale)...not involving MMA per se, but involving human violence on a MUCH grander scale
pause at 6 seconds in and read the frame...then watch at least 40 minutes or so, before deciding to stick with it or not (it's a long video but still much shorter than any UFC event, and will have you re-evaluating everything you thought you knew about plain-vanilla, white-bread life on planet earth)Comment -

#83meanwhile, back on things face-punchy, my latest ornithological emanation reads:
if everything goes according to Zuffa-plan....McGillicutty'll have a belt won from a crippled champ & several-BS-defences before anyone has proof positive he simply can't handle anyone of "Frad's" (or a FIT Aldo,or maybe even his countryman and previous conqueror, Joe Duffy)'s calibre
____________
As for Machida he's a true Anderson-like phenom...someone with technique so sublime that he's repeatedly shown that someone that looks like a soccer player can beat the shit out of human monsters with action-figure bodies (such as Yoel Romero)
the short turnaround on this one scares me a bit, and given that and the prices and the small cage (and the unpredictable hand of Father Time)...i'll watch this one 100% as a fan...
to think that this guy spent years facing 205-pound monsters cuz' of his love and respect for Anderson...even winning the title there when his load coulda' been considerably "lighter" at 185...those two (and Jacare, as well) have stated publicly several times that they'd NEVER fight even if ordered to by the brass...but it was just simpler if he stayed up there and battled the big boys (much like Frankie sticking at 155 over that same period...for completely different reasons of course, but these two--Machida and Edgar are two of my all-time faves)...
go Dragon...and here's to not TOO many more...you've earned a nice retirement from the sport that you revolutionized in so many waysComment -

#84^^ The Dragon is a handsome man, could probably model instead of fight... Pretty boy does have mad squabbles though.. Looks can be deceiving for sure fitguy as the story goes...
Machida biggest enemy right now is age and probably the lack of PED use.. His body looks a bit saggy to me in recent fights compared to his old self.. Still curious to see what Romero looks like at weigh ins as well. That dude is a genetic freak though...Comment -

#95Steve Montgomery is on the blackzilians vs american top team season of the ultmate fighter.
Unfortunately, he never gets to fight. He has a seizure cutting weight and isn't allowed to participate in the rest of the season.
Glad to see he's getting a second chance. I like his attitude.
Montgomery has his work cut out for him taking on Tony Sims.Comment -

#98Props for the main event to consider..
Going to try Machida by KO in this 5 rounder myself at +165... The big guy is gonna press and begin to gas in the later rounds if he doesn't get Machida out of there early.. I just hope Machida doesn't get steam rolled again like he did against Luke Rockhold in the first round...
Those betting on Romero these props might work.1041 Machida wins by TKO/KO <input id="radiox" value="M1_103" name="radiox" type="radio">+165
and1037 Romero wins by TKO/KO <input id="radiox" value="M1_101" name="radiox" type="radio">+240
1015 Romero wins in round 1 <input id="radiox" value="M1_90" name="radiox" type="radio">+550
If this fight ever makes it to the cards you gotta think Machida's gonna win it on points like Paper said...

And while chances are slim to none Yoel wins by submission I'd still rather play Yoel in the distance at +230 over by Ko at +240.Comment -

#104I think there is value with the U1.5 in the Santos/Bosse scrap.. Both of these guys look for the KO early, mostly 1st round finishes from both.. At +120 I think it's worth a shot anyway. I don't understand this line at all.....http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Thiago-Santos-90021
