DSSCA's Muay Thai, Kickboxing and MMA plays
My reason for this thread is mostly to keep track of my plays and see where I'm at. Tail or fade, your choice.

I lost quite a bit of my roll on the Machida decision loss vs. Davis and said I was done... Guess not.

    Lion Fight 12 (11/01/13)

    Fabio Pinca vs. Malaipet
Tiffany Van Soest vs. Magali Foroni

Yes Malaipet has the impressive record, Lumpinee Champion and some of the best sweeps in the game. His last few fights he has dominated but by no means against top competition. He starts slow and is literally the most arrogant man I have ever seen in the ring (Thai or not). Why thats relevant is because he will catch a few kicks, sweep Pinca and land a few hard shots. He will think hes ahead, his ego will get in the way and forget he's in the USA where those sweeps dont count for much. Pinca is a bit longer, better boxing and completely under the radar to most. He'll out work Malaipet and win a dec. I'm a huge Pinca fan, so a little bias also, my boy Kevin Ross smashed Malaipet and has much more technical style just like Pinca. TEAM PINCA!

    Tiff smashes. Nuff said.

Only UFC play is Machida/Munoz over 2 1/2.

The Machida O 2.5 should cash. I am sorry to hear that you almost quit. Even though you lost. You were on the right side of the Machida vs Davis fight. If the Machida vs Munoz fight doesn't go past the 3rd then it will be Machida via TKO. GL

Been laying off the UFC but playing the Glory and Lion Fight cards. Was HUGE on Joe Schilling @ +300 against Wakeling. Wakeling pulled out of the fight and was refunded my play. Schilling won the Tournament... Lol.

If you're trying to be kind, you're doing a disservice. No one should develop the mentality that a 4 to 1 favorite in a close fight is the right side.

Are you saying that Davis was the right side then NoLeaf? If so... You. Are. Dumb. If not, you have no point. I had Machida in a parlay and he was most definitely the right side. Also, that fight was not close. Davis had two takedowns for a total of what... 1 min top "control."? By that logic, Pacquiao was also the wrong side against Bradley?

Also, please don't come into my thread and try to start a fight with someone who you obviously disagree with for the sake of arguing.

Arguing with fool's is a waste of time. They will only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. Experience at being a fool that is.

Sorry for that, I did think twice about it. But it's dangerous thinking IMO, so felt someone should say it.

No worries man. Thanks. I understand, I just disagree in this situation. Either way, when the line comes out for Lion Fights, play Pinca

I am going to make this real simple for both NoClue, MD & irongeek. If any one of you ham n' egger's think that you are more intelligent or more knowledgable about combat sports than I. Then let us play a little game I call "Loser Leaves Town". The rules are: 1. start out with $1000 (U.S. dollars) total bank roll between as many of the 12 books listed on http://bestfightodds.com/ 2. All wagers are posted (screen shot) before any given combat sport event starts. 3. Play as many combat sport events as you wish from now 2013/10/26 till 2013/11/03 Noon. Who ever has the most $ at that point in time is declared the winner. If any of you 3 bozo's win then I will leave SBR for 3 month's. If I win then who ever challenged me shall leave for only 1 month. If $1000 is too steep for any of you (that means you iron geek) then I will agree to a lesser number in order to accommodate you. It could be $50 for all I care. The point is what you can turn the starting amount into until 2013/11/03 12:00 PM Noon. Step up or sit the f*ck down! No excuses! Especially from you MD! Every time someone challenges you to a duel you always try to weasel out of it. I expect an answer by 11 AM ET / 8 AM PT 2013/10/26 or anytime before the UFC FN 30 facebook prelims start. The board is watching & waiting for your answer.

Thanks, I'd really like to get into capping Muay Thai, but I'm not entirely sure where to start. Is there a lot of good footage out there generally?

I'm not sure if there is a ton of footage loaded on one site. Usually I am able to watch most of the events in person because Im in southern California and have trained with most of the guys or know guys they train with. Most Thai fighters post their fights on their Facebook pages to be honest. The sport is so small in the states, so they are trying to bring attention. It's a small community. Muaythaiauthority.com is a good resource for general info. Also Scott Hirano and Jeff Dojillo are great Muay Thai photographers with great articles. I've found the line makers to be especially terrible in Muay Thai

OK thanks, I'll check their facebooks.

Holy cow, those guys have 300 professional fights between them. I'd imagine Thai's even more damaging long haul than MMA too, no? Really surprised they're still ... sentient, even.

@RP I'll put a brief response in the event thread to this.

In Thailand kids will start fighting close to 3 yrs old. I think Malaipet turned pro at 8? It's their national sport. Your body gets used to and becomes accustomed to the sport. Literally after punishing your shins against the bag or other hard surfaces, your bones become more dense and can take the beating. Lots of cuts with elbows, but in the Thai culture, sweeps and the teep (push kick) are used more frequently. Either way, Thai's are crazy tough. I always hated sparring with the Thais because no matter how hard you hit them, you never knew if you hurt them. Bastards! Haha. I however didn't do well against liver kicks and being swept 100 times. Haha.

Check out Saenchai. Turned pro at 8 also and his record is 264-48. Lol. I'm also pretty sure Yodsanklai will never lose again.
Thais have great records in Thailand but against the worlds best outside of Thailand they aren't so good. Except for Yod always bet Simon Marcus though. 35-0-1 and crushes people. All top fighters. Straight bad boy!

WCK has great fighters. They are out of Hollywood park casino. They also come to San Diego a lot. Glory is the largest promotion and is in Los Angeles a lot. Lion Fight is out of Vegas.

Inland Empire is not too far man. Pala casino always has fights. You can't really bet them, but you can see great fights in person and then bet them in a few months when they are in the larger promotions. I'm always there and usually know half the damn card. Haha.

Aight, guess I could do Pala. Freakin IE, nothin happenin here. What type of lines does that Marcus dude get? Also would love to see Germaine de Randamie do some more Muay Thai, but that would be a low-percentage move for her I spose.

1k is too steep (for you), I mean you buried everything in one event betting heavy favorites. Perhaps it'd be better if you just stick to sherdouche fantasy league or do some overtime bagging groceries

don't go away mad, just go away

Your body gets used to and becomes accustomed to the sport. Literally after punishing your shins against the bag or other hard surfaces, your bones become more dense and can take the beating. Lots of cuts with elbows, but in the Thai culture, sweeps and the teep (push kick) are used more frequently. Either way, Thai's are crazy tough. I always hated sparring with the Thais because no matter how hard you hit them, you never knew if you hurt them. Bastards! Haha. I however didn't do well against liver kicks and being swept 100 times. Haha.
Hows the shin conditioning work out if you start when your older? I am thirty years old and i recently had an a l reconstruction. I expect to make a full recovery but id really like to tKe some basic classes some day. Any advice or opinion on this?

Actually, it's the opposite. Surprisingly, no one here wants to actually have a "duel", and instead want to do silly ego-based gimmick contests like "loser leaves SBR". I seem to recall that I challenged you to a similar contest for cash previously, and you just completely ignored it to preserve your ego.

Conditioning would work the same. It would take a bit longer as you get older because your body wont adapt as fast. If you are taking class then you wouldn't have to worry too much about conditioning. You would be wearing shinguards 90% of the time to prevent injury. Even pros spar with shinguards on for that same reason. It will sting a bit when you first start kicking the bag and pads, but that will go away in a couple months. You'll be ok. My advice would be to use lots and lots of thai oil Helps take the sting away. And to progress slowly. Try hitting the same spot on your shin over and over again while kicking the bag, and don't use your instep, use your shin.

I stick my finger in the eye of stupidity then Humpty (iron geek) & Dumpty (MD) back down. Here are my first 3 picks for UFC FN 30
