Even before the fight took place, Henderson said, UFC President Dana White warned the champion that because of time constraints he would have to finish the fight early. He remembered thinking, “Goodness gracious. I have to knock him out? There are millions of people watching. My heart is racing. What did I get myself into?”

#4Is bendo seriously dumb enough to admit something like that in an interview?
I recall a while ago Dana saying he has never and will never tell a fighter he needs to go in there and get a knock outComment -

#6Ive been saying fights are fixed for years and people laughed. It's not hard to drop down from a punch and curl up. Especially if the boss is paying you to do it. See Ken Shamrock and Stephan Bonnar for examples.Comment -

#8I've seen fights where fighters are clearly throwing it (i.e. Jason MacDonalds KO's to Alan Belcher and Tom Lawlor) but dunno if UFC had a hand in those or if they just had money on themselves. With MacDonald, I think he was on his own 'cos he never got another fight after Lawlor. Said he's retiring, then wanted a fight and didn't get one.Comment -

"Are you sure you want to do this? This is a lot of pressure, if you don't have enough pressure already," White said, according to Henderson.
Dana wasnt saying to him "I want you to KO or submit Melendez earlier otherwise the show will run over and im sacking you!" He was quite clearly impling... "well you better finish him quickly if you want to then go and do a big proposal"!

#15I also like how you've not copy and pasted the rest of this article. You've missed the part where they are clearly basing this whole story around the fact that Benson wanted to propose to his girlfriend at the end of the event! ....

#19Yes you're a goddamn fool. A) For expecting me to check multiple websites to see if there is anymore to what I read in the article at hand. B) For thinking there is nothing odd about Dana saying that, regardless of time constraints.
If that's what Dana said, then it meant if it goes to decision, he can't do it, yet he did it anyway.
He did it anyway because only the Mir fight went the distance out of the previous 3 fights so they weren't pressed for time (but there was no way Dana would know that before the fights happened!).Comment -

#28Loader i have been educating people about this in all sports not just this one. There are two kinds of people. One that will take a step back and consider what you say and the other who is totally unreachable. This is a true story and all documented on another site. Back when Lebron went to his first title and before the playoffs began, i showed people who would win those final games to make the playoffs so Lebron could get the easy ride thru the playoffs. Like clockwork on the last days certain teams lost and it shook out where Lebron had the easy ride. Then when he played Detroit in the second series i believe, i showed guys which players would lay down for him so he could advance and it was clear as day what happen. Guys said i was just lucky with my prediction and a few said it was incredible what i said. Same guys i said would lay down were throwing the ball away in the last five minutes and taking horrible shots. These certain players do this for the good of the league. Pete Rose did this for himself and never will step foot in MLB again because he is being made an example. For years i have told people which teams would get the number one pick in the nba draft or make the biggest move in the draft because they did the league a favor (Like memphis sending Paul Gasol to the Lakers in a very lopsided deal to get the Lakers the title) with mma i don't believe the ufc is rigged unless it gets to the judges. when u see everyone on a fight with lines that look really suspicious then u either back away or take the guy nobody is taking like Carmont last week. Henderson may be champ for years because people are always betting against him. He didn't beat Edgar and Edgar will always lose these close decisions because people love betting him unless it is a guy like BJ. I can go on and on with this shit but it becomes a waste of time.Comment -

#34This is a really funny post because you're posting in a betting forum, and half of your posts seem to go around how everything is fixed, everything is corrupt and everything is predetermined. Always against you too, it seems.

#35Modern usage
Many English speakers use "begs the question" to mean "raises the question", "evades the question", or even "ignores the question", and follow that phrase with the question, for example: "this year's deficit is half a trillion dollars, which begs the question: how are we ever going to balance the budget?" Apart from philosophical, logical, grammatical and legal contexts, some authorities deem such usage to no longer be mistaken.[Comment
