The only difference now is I drop 22 pounds the week of the fight, so not having to do that is a major advantage for me. So not having to do that, I wanted to stay the same size, so who knows, six weeks later I could get the call to fight again.

#75Fade the Brazilian Boil man!....
Brazilian regrets: "I'll have to break in the sauna"
The fighter capixaba, Marcelo Guimarães, Hyun Gyu Lim who faces at UFC Japan, Saturday (2), in Saitama, will have an even greater foe: the balance. The Brazilian had health problems before traveling and had the details AgFight everything that happened and how it will be its final phase of preparation for the event.
Marcelo had many difficulties due to boils on the body and eventually had to undergo emergency surgery. He revealed he will have to work twice as hard to lose the remaining weight to the official weigh-in, which happens the day before. "I'll have to bust me in the sauna," said Espirito Santo.
It will be the second presentation by Marcelo Guimaraes UFC. At first, the welterweight Daniel Stittgen won by split decision. See below for the full interview.
How was your arrival here in Japan? Still have problems with the spindle?
We spent two days traveling, and since Victoria, we are getting used. The first flight we do not sleep, they went to Amsterdam. We handle the wave, and everyone asleep, and we did not sleep on that flight. We decided to just sleep on the second flight to Tokyo. Because the time we left Amsterdam, it was like here in Japan, so we arrived in Tokyo morning very tired and wanting to sleep but not sleep and stayed up all day.
The first night's sleep was hard, today was the first day that full step up here and I slept. Now I'm more accustomed to. I've done a workout with Wanderlei Silva and took almost an hour of fight training. At night I made a sauna, and going to 22pm for the second night's sleep to recover 100%.
You also said you had problems in Brazil, the boil on the body, how is this now?
I was very difficult because my much lowered immunity and gave a boil on my arm. I think that always happens in my fights and this time it was the week of my trip. My goal was to get here with 84, 83kg, 86kg but came with holding the urge to eat on the plane, but it's a difficulty and I'm over it. It's something that tends to give me more strength to fight.
Speaking of the fight, well you studied your opponent? You already have a strategy for the fight?
It's complicated, because I do not like studying opponents. Biotype I see it, is a tall guy, a guy who kicks, punches, and you try to draw a strategy for this. But I'm ready to fight any situation. Many people in four years and can evolve a purple belt or a black belt, or own Jon Jones at UFC debuted with three years already Muay Thai, people evolve too.I focused on my strengths to plot my strategy.
How is your weight and what care you are taking this final stage in your body?
It is the biggest problem, because now I see the guys training in the gym, doing a treadmill and I still weak. I ask myself, 'how this guy still has power?'. I ask them (fighters), 'lack much?' And they tell me 4kg. As for me, plenty to lose 4kg just barely missing two hours for weighing. I'll have to break in the sauna. There are times when not even feel hungry anymore. Only people who go through this do you know how hard it is, and how the guy comes close to death. You reached its limit. When you arrive at your peak, how much you value the experienced. In part this is good because it helps to take the focus off a bit of struggle and adrenaline before combat.
And after all this suffering, you will have time to recover well?
My sin was that last time. I overreacted, I forgot that I had to fight after weighing and started eating everything. With this, it turned out the night before the fight I could not sleep. I lay my body and not done right digestion. I fought almost puking in the Octagon and do not want to repeat it, even though I have to spend it all. Again, I'll just eat enough.
I'll have to take great care with it, since my fight will be the first of the card and I will have to leave the hotel at 6 am.And mourning at 9:40 here in Japan and having to wake up at 5am and go to war ... but I'm sure it will be a great result. In the future, God willing, I will be able to fight in Brazil, and there I will have the time to retrieve it.
Send a message to Brazil, and for all his fans ...
I want to send a hello to my family, my friends and my team. I'll be representing my state of each person. Do not show promise, but I want to come out victorious.Comment -

#82What's your expectations on the fight?
I'm very well prepared, ready to fight all the five rounds if it's needed but this bout won't last three rounds. We're both strikers and I'm going to KO. I'm well prepare, we're gonna do a big fight. - Wanderlei

I'm leaning towards Struve
Struve isn't some double leg wrestler, he will need to clinch in order to get it to the ground. Hunt loves the uppercut. I see Hunt landing a hard shot on Struve more likely to happen than Struve getting a quick TD. Struve has been in the UFC for a while, yet he really has no good wins yet. He subs guys like Lavar and Barry. He gets rocked by any solid striker.
The toss up is Struve's age and improvement each fight. But I just see it being hard for Struve to get a TD. I guess he could kick from range and stay away from Hunt. But on the feet I think it is only a matter of time. Hunt has shaken off TDs recently from better (not much better) but better wrestlers. Struve likes to get into fights where he gets beaten up a bit before he wins, he can't afford to do that vs. Hunt.
Should be a fun fight, but I like Hunt here. Getting him at + odds seems like gravy.Comment -

#87i know, why do people love hunt so much. Struve has evolved a lot lately. Everybody loooved herman, then upsi, struve Koed him. Before that people banked on pat barry. And boy people couldnt see anyway struve could sub stipe or Ko him, but he did. Same song here. I think struve wins. But if he loses it will be the very first round. After that struve for me.Comment -

#93I'm also on Okami, I do feel he is the underdog here, but at those lines, I'll hit it. I've made the mistake of betting against Okami too many times, having to watch him grind a guy for 3 rounds is the most painful way to lose a bet.Comment -

I think he's just looking for a one punch KO in this fight possibly first round after that he's done
so if anyone bets on Gomi i think first round KO is the only chance he's gotComment -

#98I LOVE Gomi I really do. everytime I look at him hes reminding me of his killer winning streak as the main bushido face of Pride.
Event though his media workout stinks of laziness I can see the beautiful hip twist in his punches...like a good boxer.
Too bad it takes a lot of energy to start these punches and thats why he will gas. Diego is too intense and the pace will make it even harder for Gomi to land that money punch.
Heart says Gomi...brain says Diego.Comment -

But do you see him easily getting a TD? What TD will he use, a trip from clinch? Struve is so big that he tends to be slow and awkward. Standing it is a no brainer, unless Struve stays 7 feet away and uses kicks the whole time. But Struve doesn't have the best fighting IQ.
As a dog, I don't see how Hunt isn't value? His win over Kongo is probably better than any win Struve has had in his career.
It is a fun and odd matchup. Obviously you have to look at Struve's length and size. But Hunt has fought a lot of different guys in MMA and kickboxing, he has ran into all sorts of styles. Struve can surely sub him on the ground...problem is, how does it get there? Hunt is the superior striker no doubt about it.
Hunt is far better than Barry or Lavar standing. And he probably has a better/more experience ground game. He is a stocky strong guy who doesn't just wing punches like Lavar.Comment -

#101I think both Sanchez and Gomi are highly overrated and have been for a while. Diego wings a million punches that don't even land. Gomi crouches down and wings the right hand all fight, coming up short on a good % of them. They both suck. Gomi has been done for years.
Diego will win on athleticism and cardio/pace. He has a chin as well, so it isn't like Gomi can just land 1 shot and expect him to fall down.Comment -

The McCorkle fight is almost irrelevant. Hunt came in and didn't care. At least that is my view of it. His next fight when they let him fight in Australia he found some new motivation, and is obviously better prepared his last 3 fights.Comment -

#103The McCorkle fight gets way too much attention. The UFC owed Hunt a fight or 2. They didn't exactly want him, and he knew it. He went through the motions in that fight and collected a check. He then even said he realized this was his only shot at making a living off fighting anymore, so he got in a bit better shape and worked on TDD. Kongo is a better wrestler than McCorkle, so is Rothwell. Didn't Hunt stuff both of them?

#104You are probably right, Hunt probably wasnt as well prepared or motivated for the McChokle fight as he has been in other fights. But then you could argue that in defence of Hunt then you could say same about Kongo going in to the Hunt fight as he said he had injuries and "private worries" for tht fight. Then Rothwell put in one of the worse performances ever seen and gassed after 3 minutes...tht win didnt impress me at all
I like Struve and think he is a solid fighter and still young enough to keep improving. But he tends to get hit in his fights. I just like the chances Hunt does hit him at +160. Struve is good on the ground, but he isn't some Roger Gracie (not that he has to be). He doesn't have traditional double leg TDs to get in deep on Hunt. Hunt is strong like Bull and stocky, which make me think Struve will have a hell of a time getting a TD unless he pulls guard. Will be interesting to see how Struve goes about trying to get it to the ground.
It gets overrated, but Hunt is fighting on his side of the world....can only help his preparation and comfort in this fight. With 3 UFC wins in a row, and KO bonuses to be had, I feel Hunt has more motivation for MMA than he ever has had really.
It is similar to the Lavar and Barry fights because Struve is probably either getting hit in the face and falling down or he is subbing for the win. I just think Hunt is a better striker and grappler than both of those guys. He also stays pretty calm as he walks you down, doesn't wing craziness all the time like Lavar. He also has 100x the chin Barry does, he isn't afraid to eat a few to land his shot.Comment -

#105Struve is in a catch 22. On one end he wants to use his length and kicks and keep distance. On the other hand he needs to close distance to get a TD. Pretty confusing to mix in both.Comment
