I think cub lacks the standup....Poirier asked to have this fight after Siver backed out...not many fighters ask for fights they are going to lose....I think he must feel like he is in good shape and can get this victory..Siver woulda worked cub as well....poirier i see winning and it going all 3 rounds

I like Poirier to win but I don't think it's accurate to say that Cub is outmatched on the feet here..

I agree. I've got a little bit on Poirier, will probably add more if I'm doing well after the prelims. I'm hoping to see him take this to the ground, though. My only concern is that he seems to be easy to hit. Hopefully he isn't that defensively inadequate but just underestimated Brookins' striking. But Dustin submitting Brookins in that fashion was more impressive than his defensive boxing was unimpressive in that fight so I'm hoping to see some slick ground work against Cub or even maybe tie Cub against the cage and dirty box him a bit.

...totally agree...he needs to go to the ground and chew up and round or 2...dont see a unanimous here

I wasnt impressed by the sub at all...Brookins was looking for a way out and just gave it to him with a half-hearted sloppy takedown attempt.

So because Brookins left an opening, it was an unimpressive submission from Poirier? Looked like he locked it up really quick and smoothly to me. He capitalized on an opponent's mistake without hesitating at all.

yes it was great that he took advantage of an opportunity, but it wasnt like he set it up and transitioned to it...Brookins just simply flopped to his knees and left his chin sticking out...I just cant see Swanson making a similar mistake to that (especially after what happened in the Lamas fight when he got casual). Before the sub Poirier looked very average to me, he was lunging in with wild punches and getting tagged by Brookins of all people!

I feel you. I still think that Dustin is a superior grappler than Swanson despite Cub's guillotine. I may have overrated Brookins' grappling going into that and the Oliveira fights, but I still am impressed by Poirier catching and capitalizing so smoothly. He looked great on the ground against Holloway, which obviously doesn't correlate to the Cub fight directly. Swanson is no slouch and I'm sure he will be prepared but Poirier comes across as having more ways to win and as being a more complete but less dangerous fighter. I'll take the +105. But I'm known to be wrong quite often.

Indeed, stranger things have happened in the UFC my friend.

The logical bet here, I believe, is the under.
