i am trying to move bitcoin from blockchain to bitpay. but when i copy the address from the bitpay website. i get this. bitcoin:?r=https://bitpay.com/i/JK1aN2xL1TM4MxvBhFnJ6D the last digits are not a complete btc address. anybody else have this issue?

Scan QR code might work. Has for me in the past. Should be able to open in your wallet from the bitpay site.

Cant use blockchain wallet anymore...has to be protocol wallet...mycelium is the one i switched too and it works just make sure to scan qr code..

i wrote about how to by-pass this new protocol in another thread... nobody acknowledged it, but this method works like a charm.. i just loaded $220 onto my bitpay card directly from my cryptopia exchange wallet, it was on there in literally 5 minutes... to hell with sending your funds to one of there selected wallets just to send them to bitpay again..every wallet you send that bitcoin to is gonna cost you more fee's..

you guys can do what you want,it just seems like this new protocol method is confusing a lot of people.. im just giving you another option

when you goto load funds on bitpay now, in the bitcoin address is a weird url link.. copy that url link they give you and paste it into that decoder... the decoder will give you the actual bitpay bitcoin address to send it to .. look at the output details the decoder gives you, theres an address part, thats the bitcoin address you can send your funds to from anywhere you usually send from

ty for tip...how is it cheaper though? I always go Book to Wallet to card? dont u go from book to cryptopia to bitpay? That would be same fees

i always went book to bitpay card direct even though they say not to.. it eliminates the middle wallet..just always send from a new address

your more a risk taker then me...Ive had old circle and coinbase both shut down doing that...I cant risk losing the best vessel for instant withdrawals...Too risky IMO

I just did exactly what daveydips described (cryptopia withdraw > bitpay website add funds)

It took 5 minutes to load! Remember to use the decoder.bip70 site he also mentioned.

So with this method the only fees you pay are cryptopia withdraw fees (0.001 or around $13 at the time) and bitpay's network fee.

If you don't use the payment protocol wallet they don't get the automated alerts from that system and will notice you.

If you can't stand being looked in to, or losing access to Bitpay, don't paint a target on your yourself.

I'm not sure what they will do, all I said was it will make them notice you as they wont be getting the expected alerts when you load the card.

Daveydips also said he was sending direct from a sportsbook to load his card. Which could get the account closed.

As someone said above, he likes taking risks with it. If you do too, that's fine. I'm just explaining what might happen so you know and can decide yourself.


And it's not like it takes more than 2 mins to download electrum or mycellium and use that to receive the payout you want to load the card with. It's not really a risk worth taking as there is no real benefit IMHO.

I use to never send direct from book .. back when the fees were like 10 cents I could move bitcoin to 10 different wallets if I wanted to and not give a damn.. i always followed the proper method and used blockchain as a middleman and I still got banned from circle and Coinbase in 2016.. now it cost $15 to send anymore, i just create a new address and take my chances.. there’s other debit cards out there .. I get banned from bitpay I’ll just move onto the next or use localbitcoins, to each his own
