They can definitely freeze it on exchanges like Coinbase, garnishment orders aswell. They can hold you indefinitely if you have some type of hardware wallet they can also go look at the Blockchain and get evidence of activity to see if you are using it when you claim you lost the key. Imo the government invented crypto to trick people to surrender even more freedom with money.

They can't freeze a million dollars hidden in straight cash never.

Money in banks can be frozen. Cryptos in anonymous wallets can't be frozen.

Poker sites in Ireland and elsewhere were shutdown and funds taken by usa,USA, 10 years ago. The USA govt has kind of eliminated most mafia interests and continues on that path. It's the reality and people investing in this who think it's safe should know the risks.

You can't freeze wallets such as Metamask. It's impossible without the password or seed phrase. A majority of cryptos are used legally.

People using cryptos illegally get caught from their private keys being on their computer, in the cloud, or running cryptos through exchanges that KYC.

Yeah but you get flagged for using them as soon as your wallet sends anything to those. It's pretty much putting a target on yourself even if the crypto is clean at this point.

You may also get stolen cryptos spit out of the mixer, who knows

This might be the dumbest thing I've heard since 2020 and factually incorrect in every facet. The us govt will never ban it, they are spending billions trying to regulate it. Banning would be as dumb as the comments you make especially when they've got to backtrack on it like every country so far has done

Were there more bitcoins being mined daily back in 2009 vs in recent years, or even currently as of today?

Reason I ask, is because I never understood the story of how that young guy(at the time) who wasn't a miner of bitcoin, acquired so many bitcoins in that first year and was able to trade so many for a couple pizzas.

The block reward was 50 BTC in 2009. Now it's 6.25 BTC. The creator of bitcoin, Satoshi, mined approximately 1m.

The mining reward is currently $250,000. The price now of $40k would need to double by 2024 so that the mining rewards would stay at $250k.

Fortunately the next halving will be around March 2024 so they wait really isn't that far off.

Bitcoin will drop down to between $15,000-$20,000. That is it's bottom. Might take a year. But it will go that low.
