The art world has transformed the way it creates and trades digital art and McDonald's is getting in on the craze. According to USA Today, the iconic fast food chain is releasing an NFT of their popular McRib sandwich, which has officially returned to McDonald's restaurants across the country for a limited time right before National Sandwich Day. McDonald's is calling it "the sauciest moment of the year."An NFT, or a Non-Fungible Token, uses the Ethereum Blockchain to add a unique signature to each digital art piece (via The Verge). This makes each of the 10 McRib NFTs truly one of a kind. According to Harper's Bazaar, the NFT cryptoart market has exploded over the past year, with everyone from Paris Hilton to Snoop Dogg releasing digital art with NFTs. Food & Wine noted the trend of food brands like Pringles and Taco Bell releasing NFT art as publicity, so it makes sense that McDonald's would follow suit.
