I set up an account with Coinbase about 1 year ago. I made a couple of deposits from my bank account last year, had to wait 7-10 days for them to clear, etc. This year I was looking at moving to another exchange because of all of the “issues” with Coinbase but because I am set-up there, I logged on to take a look and I can transfer $1K instantly and move it out same day but anything over that I have to wait 13 days. Does anyone know why? I read somewhere on the site I could transfer $1K a day out ($1K each day), I think that is their new rules/set-up. So why would I be waiting 13 days for my next $1K? Not sure how much I was willing to transfer through them (just because of some of the negative things I’ve heard over the last year), but I only wanted to deposit a couple of dimes and then setup to withdraw through another exchange. So I’m curious about the 13 days because depending on any feedback I get it would be nice to use them since I'm already established their and then leave!!
I used Blockchain last year as my wallet but understand they are now an exchange. Is it still wise to use them as my wallet? As long as I’m not using them as an exchange?
In regard to moving away from Coinbase moving forward, for someone who uses this a couple times a year for moving money for sportsbetting and plans on starting to do a little investing into crypto for the long term but might do a little dabbling in whatever as I read more. Any suggestions? Gemini seemed good a year ago.
Sorry for the long post! Hopefully my avatar helps
