bitpay/bitcoin crazy fee's?

I went to load a few dollars from my bitpay wallet onto my bitpay card and ffs, they wanted to add on an additional $17 in fee's ($7 network fee and $10 miner fee) because the "network is congested" wth is that. First time I have went to use the new Massa card bitpay card, and might be the last with that bullsh*t. Anyone else running into this? Can I adjust the miner fee?

if you go into settings you can change it to low priority and miners fees are lower but with the network fee its still high

If I were you I would google the current best rate for transaction fees according to the amount of bitcoin your sending out; and then go to settings and manually adjust your transaction fee. Then you won't have to worry about over paying or possibly under paying and being stuck with an unconfirmed transaction for a good while.
