    Bitcoin payments to email addresses
    Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase has patented a system that allows a user to make fee free Bitcoin payments using email addresses tied to wallet addresses. In a recent interview he said he wanted to help drive universal adoption of cryptocurrencies.

      Don't understand what is so special about this. You load your bitcoins into Coinbase's own bitcoin network, and then can pass them around to others free of charge within that network. Isn't that just an online wallet? Interested what the patent is for exactly. The structure of their internal network? Or just using e-mail addresses to send bitcoin to others (like paypal and many others do with $$ already)?

        my understanding is quitte the same as yours and that would only work within the same online wallet network but if you want to send to an external address then you’ll have to pay fees again
