    CashApp question
When I withdraw $from the book ....I always send to wallet first....then from wallet to cashapp to cash out

A few posters are saying they are sending directly to cashapp and and cashing out.

While I know it's possible to do this .....isn't sending through a wallet first best practice?

To be safe yeah it's probably better to go a different wallet first. However cashapp banned me even when I did that. I was buying and then sending to a middleman wallet and then to sportsbook. I'm thinking it's because I was doing several transactions a day but they would not give me a reason for the banning. Place was great while it lasted.

      ^^^ this

We basically do not know for sure as they do not tell us most of the time. But we believe using a private wallet in the middle does help. Probably not with close scrutiny but I think it will help prevent you getting flagged for that closer scrutiny sometimes.

There are other good reasons to go to the extra trouble of having your own private wallet at one end of every transaction you perform.

If a sportsbook (or anyone else) sends you bitcoin with a low fee or at a time of high congestion when it might take many hours to confirm. If it is being sent to a wallet you control, you can choose to onsend that transfer whilst still unconfirmed to another location adding a high enough fee to ensure both transfers are picked up in the next block. As miners need to confirm the first transfer in order to obtain the high fee you placed on the second one.

Another reason is that is anything does go wrong, you do not have to try to deal with two third parties to sort out any issue.

The only reason not to is laziness. Ok, fair enough if people choose the slightly simpler route but they will also be the ones that come on here complaining about their withdrawal being stuck for 24 hours next time there is a network spike, whilst the rest of us will have options to fix it in our own hands.

No need to preach to Firedawg. I have spoken here with many others before him that prefer to not worry and just send direct. And most are just fine probably. We all get to make choices.
