Ripped off $100 - thanks Blockchain
So I don't know anything about Bitcoin and Blockchain and so on. I wanted to do a withdrawal from 5 Dimes, and they recommended doing a Bitcoin withdrawal. So I opened up an account with Blockchain and I succeeded in withdrawing $100 from 5 Dimes to Blockchain. Than I was having trouble figuring out how to move the money from Blockchain to my bank account. So I called an 800 number after doing a search for a Blockchain contact number, and talked to a woman who said she would help me do the transfer. She asked me for my Blockchain "Recovery Phrase". Unfortunately, I gave it to her, thinking I was talking to somebody with Blockchain.

Well, I wasn't. I was ripped off. I sent an email to Blockchain about what happened, they responded that yes I was ripped off. That was the extent of their help. Nothing about they would try to investigate what happened, no explanation for why they don't have a phone number people can call to talk to somebody if they need help, just yes I was ripped off. The only good thing is that I only did it with $100 and not $500 or $1000, because I was new to Bicoin and I was being a little cautious for that reason.

    Thanks Blockchain, appreciate it.

Nothing they can do investigation wise other than pass the info to authorities and hope they can track down the phone number user (unlikely). They have no means of getting the Bitcoin back. It's the same as losing cash to a pickpocket.

Glad I don't have to learn Bitcoin all over again. I think about all the hours of research in using this damn thing... Unreal.

              That really sucks.

Here would have been a great place to ask for help :\
